Chapter 1 - The Final Demensional War

In the throne room sat a demon, skin as red as blood and eyes hollow like the abyss. His horns held the fiery crown of the King, he could hear the battle cries and the slaughter of his men. He knew this day would come, that his betrayal would have a price and the demoness who would come to claim it wouldn't rest until she did. He heard the door of the throne room being blasted open, and a bunch of guards were thrown in because of it.

His eyes took in the figure before him, her green skin was bathed in blood and her sword scratched the tiles creating little sparks. Her red eyes held nothing but contempt and a thirst for revenge. The way she looked at him made his heart ache, she didn't always look at him that way. He didn't want her to ever see him as an enemy, he wanted her to be by her side but how could he dare to ask her of such a thing? How could a lowly bastard who traded his own for the sake of power ask her to be his? But he had to have her, now that she's come to him, he'll do whatever it takes to keep her.

"So you're the bastard who sold us out?" she asked her tone indifferent and her expression was as if she was seeing him for the first time.

"Don't tell me you've forgotten me?" he asked a manic look on his face as he stood up and grabbed his sword.

"Forgotten? You talk as if I should know someone like you." she ran towards him in an attempt to strike him but her dogged and the impact of the sword shattered the floor sending a red spark of energy across the floor.

"Remember the good times we had? I was always by your side."

"No one on my side is a lowly" she gritted her teeth as she chased him "TRAITOR!!" she yelled out as their swords clashed.

He pushed her back by hitting her with a pulse of magic and she went back a few steps. Wasting no time she ran straight at him and vanished before his sword could strike her. She appeared behind him and kicked his side sending him smashing into a wall as her body was enveloped in red steam, her eyes glowed with rage and her sword changed shape to become a scythe.

"You can't have...you know me! Say you know ME!!" he screamed cracks appearing around his eyes and further down his face.

"I do, You're the one who killed Maeve. You'll pay the price for it."

"I didn't mean to kill her Azura. You have to believe me." It spoke more to itself than the warrior before it.

Azura approached with caution and confusion, her rage still bubbling under the surface.

"I said before, we have never met before your betrayal. Don't test me and die." she raised her scythe to behead him but he began to release huge amounts of magic.

Magic so familiar, like the one she faces so many times before 'Halo magic? Is that what he asked for? We can't have two primordial powers within us...' she thought.

"NO! NO YOU KNOW ME! I AM YOURS AND YOU ARE MINE! I won't GIVE UP!" he screamed.

"WHAT THE FUCK HAVE YOU DONE!!" she tried yelled over him and tried to attack him but his body was enveloped in a bright light that pushed her back, she dug her claws into the ground with one hand and held her ground with the scythe in the other. Dust and smoke filled the room, the glow disappeared and there was a moment of silence. Then there was a roar, the thing that was a king once appeared through the smoke, charging at Azura. She leapt into the air and dogged the attack. She faced the beast, an abomination of was was once a demon.

The demon was now a shell of his former self, his body was contorted and animal-like, and gold and black thick liquid dripped out of various cracks. Inner organs were oddly shaped and no longer internal. His many eyes had gold liquid pouring out of them, wings that resembled the Halo army from Paradise they fought against before and today but were broken and unable to take the weight of the creature it was attached to. Azura felt nothing but pity for the creature she saw, no longer what it was and with nowhere to belong. Death was its only freedom. The grotesque creature only repeated the same thing in a voice that was distorted and echoed slightly, it wailed as it spoke like a child who had been wronged. "You will be mine. You will be mine." it baffled her to hear such nonsense in the middle of a battle to death.

She didn't know him and yet he insisted otherwise, for now, it was more important to end him. As the beast mindlessly tried to attack her, noticing no pattern in the attacks she used the beast to knock down the roof of the throne room. That wasn't nearly enough to damage it, she had to use her full strength.

'Seth, can you hear me?'

'Yes, We're almost done around the borders did you get him?'

'No...he was given powers by God. It's made him a strange mutant with no brain. I'll have to go all in.'

'We got it, I'll have Lilith portal you far-'

'No wait Ask her to open a portal on my command to Paradice.'

'Uh..are you sure?'

"Yes. No brace yourselves there will be many waves of magic coming your way.'

'We have it handled, do what you have to and rip that bastard apart.'

She took a deep breath and took a dagger out from the side of her boots, it was a dagger that acted like a key to open a locked door. In this case, the locked door is the true power of the wrath rulers. They had to lock away half of their powers as it is capable of driving them mad if used recklessly. Azura had been the decedent with the strongest power seen in 3 generations, it's why she was made the ruler despite not being the first offspring. She had immense physical strength without having to use her magic. She stabbed the dagger into the centre of her chest just under her collarbone. She grunted in pain and the dagger turned bright red and melted into her body. Her green skin had a layer of hard scales and she had a thick and long tail two pairs of bat-like wings broke through the skin on her back, the wings were black and twice her size and two horns protruded from the side of her head curling backwards like that of a ram. Her claws were sharper and her eyes were more like that of a wild cat. Her teeth grew sharp and she snarled at the beast across from her.

She launched herself at the beast, her feet driving into the ground with powerful force. The air crackled with tension as she spread her massive wings, propelling herself into the sky. The creature—an abomination of flesh and bones looked at her with hollowed eyes—reared back, snarling in response. As she circled overhead, the red moonlight glinted off her scales, making her look like a living dagger against the red sky. Suddenly, she swooped down, aiming for the beast's flank or what seemed to be one.

With a swift motion, she extended her claws, aiming to inflict as much damage as possible. The beast wasn't as dumb as she thought, anticipating her attack, spun around, swinging its massive paw to intercept her. She barely managed to veer out of the way, feeling the rush of air as the paw grazed her side. The impact forced her to flap her wings harder, gaining altitude before its grotesque claw got hold of her. From above, she saw her chance. With a fierce cry, she dived, aiming for the beast's throat. Just as she was about to land her blow, the creature pivoted, snapping its jaws perilously close to her. She narrowly avoided the bite, twisting mid-air to dig her claws into its broad back. The beast bucked violently, trying to throw her off, but she hung on fiercely, sinking her claws deeper into its flesh and holding on to the bone beneath it. The black and gold blood dripped down her arm and she looked at it feeling disgusted.

With all her strength, she pulled herself upward, aiming to strike at the vulnerable skin under its neck. She could feel the heat radiating from its body as she prepared to unleash her power, blood pounding in her ears. The fight was finally coming to a close as she finally swung herself near its head and slashed its throat, the creature shrieked and tried to grab her with one of his other arms she dogged them and once more took to the sky.

Its wounds were healing and she needed to end it. "Now!" she called out, her voice steady and fierce, echoing through the debris-strewn throne room. The moment the words left her lips, a whirlwind of shimmering light erupted from the sky and shot down into the ground. The ground trembled beneath her feet as the magic began to weave itself into existence, colours bending and merging into a brilliant swirl of silver and gold. The air filled with a sharp, electric charge as the portal's edges sparkled not yet open enough.

Azura's eyes, glinting like glowing rubies, locked onto the grotesque form of the creature that was once her enemy. It howled, its distorted voice was something between a plea and a threat. "You will be mine!" it shrieked as if trying to grasp onto the remnants of the bond it thought they had once shared. She felt no hatred for it anymore as the swirling vortex began to stabilize, the colours forming a mesmerizing whirlpool. She raised her right arm over her head, the scent of her magic enveloped the air, pungent and intoxicating. She could feel it coiling around her as she focused, channelling every ounce of her power into her hands. A red ball of energy formed over her head sparks pulsing out of it as it struggled to hold its spherical form. The Beast attempted to attack her but the ground trembled and it looked behind at the source.

A powerful shockwave rippled outward, causing the castle in the sky to tremble. At that moment, the chaotic dimension between worlds split open, revealing a shimmering path leading into Paradise. It was both terrifying and beautiful, a promise of freedom and a glimpse of salvation. The beast faltered, its attention momentarily caught by the radiant gateway. "Over Here Ugly!" she shouted wanting it to be focused on her. The creature roared in response, a frenzy of desperation and charged at her once more. Azura smirked and the large orb shrunk into nothing as she charged to the beast dogging its attack and pressing her palm to its bone-covered chest.

"Suffer for eternity, you ugly bastard." for a split second she saw in its eyes regret and fear but now it was too late for forgiveness.

It happened too fast for the beast to register as the palm pressed against its chest emitted a red glow and it felt the heat through its entire body before it was pushed through the portal into paradise within seconds. The portal shut and the rest of the rulers wrapped up everything on their end, Azura sat in the scattered remains of the throne room. Finally, it was over but she couldn't have this happen every time, it was too much bloodshed even for the sake of peace. She began to think of her ancestors from before, did they also face such a situation? The constant threat of dimensional war, the loss of lives and the use of power are too dangerous. After a while they all met in the same throne room, Seth helped Avarice walk as he was injured himself. He wasn't as skilled at the art of war as his other peers but he did his best. Lucifer wore an expression of worry and contemplation while Lilith healed the wounds on Azura.

"Lady Azura, if you allow it I have a solution," Lucifer spoke

"You better...all of this mess because you couldn't keep your friend in check. How much longer must Inferno bear the burden of your incompetence as a Primordial?" she said looking at him with a tired expression.

"We'd like to take responsibility, My self and Lilith will reside in Inferno. With the permission of the other Lords, I'd like to propose that I take the throne of Inferno." he said

Seth was about to have an outburst but was stopped by Azura who raised her hand to stop him.

"On the condition that You do not rule as a king but part of our faction. No decision will be passed unless all of us agree with it." She stated.

After Inferno recovered the discussions went on for months and finally an agreement was made, Lucifer was the King of Inferno. Lilith was the mediator and took on the role of overseeing the realms to make sure no one crossed the line. The human realm was left alone to live accordingly as it pleased. Before leaving Lilith left behind a part of herself, that part took over as the new Lady of Lust. A lot of things changed and many took this time to mourn the losses and rebuild. Azura herself could now mourn the loss of her dear friend unsure of the future but still as determined as ever to continue to protect what she holds dear.
