Rain opened her eyes once more, and found that she was back in the room she had logged out of. She quickly sat up and immediately made an 'ah' sound. When she was able to hear her voice that was so full of vitality, her eyes couldn't help but water again. However, she quickly threw the thoughts out of the window. She enjoyed all the benefits that the game brought her, particularly the ability to hear again, but she didn't want to always dwell on it. At least, not while she was in the game.
Rain stood up and stretched, she was still wearing the training uniform, which she did honestly like. She thought it looked good on her, and it didn't hamper her natural ability to move around, so she was more than happy with it. Then she also had the cloak that was comfortable to wear but also provided her immense benefits. Plus she had the cute boots that Han had made. She saw that it had black fur on it, and she didn't know if Kalic had noticed the fur since it blended in quite well with the fabric, but she felt like Han was splurging on her. But she was happy.
With a smile plastered on her face, she made her way out of her room and started to walk around the Aeitha Guard building. 'I need to ask if they have a specific name for this building cause constantly calling it the 'Aeitha Guard building' is getting annoying,' Rain thought to herself as she continued adventuring. She greeted the people she walked past, and they greeted her back. The common white fur that everyone had marked them as a Guard, and as such Rain had no reservations in making small talk with the people here.
After spending some time walking around and exploring on her own, Rain found herself back in the open training courtyard. She was still impressed at how big it was, as there was always more room for people to practice no matter how many people were there. Rain reached down and touched the shortsword that was hanging off of her hip. She thought about going into the courtyard again to keep practicing the practice movements. Rain took her hand off of the hilt of her sword and decided against doing so. Rain went to feel her pockets when she found that she didn't have one.
"Oh no," Rain couldn't help but gasp. If she didn't have pockets, how was she supposed to keep gear? Rain started to panic, she didn't have anything. She realized that she had left her old clothes in that small bare room, and quickly went into it. She found her old clothes right where she had left them and quickly grabbed them. Checking the pockets for the coins she had gotten from Miguel. Sighing in relief she softly gripped the coins and made her way back to her room. She needed to drop off her old clothes, but she also needed to get some sort of backpack or some sort of storage device. Quickly dropping her clothes off, and keeping a tight grip on her coins she made her way out of the Aeitha Guard building before she quickly stopped.
She had no idea where to go. She knew nothing about this town, or how to even get around. But this was a good time to go exploring. She had plenty of time, she only needed to be back at the courtyard in the morning. Rain calmed down and started to leisurely walk around Aeitha. First checking out all the places near the Aeitha Guard building, before she started to make her way further out. Time began to pass as Rain continued exploring. She had already found plenty more stores to buy things at, food stalls, the apothecary that Miguel talked about, private forges, and even an enchanting office. However, most of the buildings were the homes of the populace. She continued searching around, getting more and more desperate to find some sort of shop that might sell what she was looking for. As the suns continued to get closer and closer to the horizon, Rain finally found a shop that fit her needs, or at least looked like it could.
It was a small shop, that was stuck in between two major taverns. A little hanging sign out front that said "Liliettes Leathers". Rain rubbed the few coins she had before walking inside. Rain received quite a shock from what she found because the store was not at all what she thought it was. She thought the place would be selling leather items, and as such might have a backpack of some sort. Contrary to her thoughts, however, the place was an adult store, with all forms of erotic clothing and toys, most being made out of leather. Rain's face immediately became beat red.
She hadn't been exposed to these kinds of things in public before and had no idea how to react. Accidentally walking into an adult store is embarrassing. However, as this was the first store that even mentioned leather in its name, let alone had leather items. Rain could only quickly try to find someone to ask if they had backpacks. She doubted it, but she had to try.
Rain quickly made her way to the back side of the store, keeping her eyes down, avoiding looking at anything in the store. At the back of the store, she found a counter, where a lady was standing behind it who seemed to be reading a book. The lady seeing Rain make her way towards her stopped reading the book and put it away. Rain, finally having someone to talk to and distract her from the sight of everything else finally looked at her, however, she was in for a shock again. The woman was wearing a very scandalous dress that barely covered anything and the sides were open, only attached by some strings. She also wore a corset that squeezed her assets far too tight than they needed to be. The poor things looked as if they were trying to fight their way off of her chest. The lady quickly looked Rain up and down before speaking.
"What can I get for you honey," the lady asked.
"I'm uh... I was... I... Do you have... Um... traveling bags?" Rain asked, stuttering over her own voice out of embarrassment from the environment she was in. "Like regular bags, not the... exotic kinds," Rain quickly went to clarify. The woman looked at Rain slightly confused before she shrugged her shoulders.
"I do make the occasional bag when I get bored, but why would you come to a store like this looking for a bag," she asked.
"I couldn't find any other leather stores," Rain said sheepishly. She had thrown on the hood of the cloak and started to shrink into it. The woman sighed in response.
"Did you look at the leather square?"
"The leather what," Rain asked shocked.
"Holy smokes kid. Are you new in town?"
"Um... yeah." Hearing Rain's response, the lady couldn't but rub her forehead.
"Whatever, since you're here I'll just bring out the one or two bags I have." The lady after speaking bent over, her dress riding up her legs, just barely covering her sensitive areas. If Rain was a guy, she couldn't help but think that she would just be drooling at the sight of this woman. Rain wasn't, however, but even she took a long look before she peeled her eyes away. The sounds of the lady fumbling through some sort of drawer or something could be heard from the other side of the counter. A few moments later, she threw up two bags onto the counter. Both were small compared to the backpacks Rain knew of. Calling them both backpacks would be misleading, one looked to be a satchel that you throw over one shoulder. The other was a small sack that had leather straps attached to it. However, the sack didn't have a sinch close, but had a flap over it, it had a light blue color to it and looked quite nice.
"How much is that one," Rain asked pointing to the one that looked most like a backpack. The lady looked down at the bag as if she was thinking about a price.
"How about 20 Draema cupcake," she said, smiling flirtatiously. Rain opened her hand and looked at the coins sitting in her hand. She realized now, that she had absolutely no clue how much money she had. She didn't know what to do so she just put all of the coins on the table. Two were of a greenish bronze color while the other was a weird blue metal.
"Is that enough," she asked nervously. The flirtatious smile on the lady's face instantly froze before it turned into one of confusion. The lady sighed in defeat for a moment before pushing the blue coin back to Rain and taking the other two.
"If you had gone to the leather square you probably would've gotten scammed to all hell. That other coin you have is twenty Draema. The two you handed me made twenty. I am surprised you didn't go to Aeitha Bank and get their cards. Makes all these transactions so much easier," the lady said with a defeated tone.
"I am new to town," Rain said embarrassed. "Plus I have amnesia so I don't remember a whole bunch."
"Wow, you poor kid. New and an amnesic. I almost want to hug you," the lady said. Rain quickly put her hands out and shook her head. The lady couldn't help but laugh a little. Even her laugh was filled with a seductive tone. 'This lady is scary. She's probably a man killer,' Rain thought to herself.
"I hope I see you again soon," the lady said as she handed the bag to Rain giving her a wink. She then grabbed the other bag and bent over, very obviously going even slower this time, and made sure to turn her rear towards Rain. Rain quickly turned around, her face as red as a tomato, and began to make her way out of the store. The lady's seductive chuckle could be heard behind her while she left. It wasn't until she had left the store that Rain could breathe freely.
The lady was nice, but she was way too promiscuous for Rain's liking. Although Sunny wore very little clothes as well, she didn't do it to appear sexier. It was more likely that Sunny's muscles were just too big to be tamed by some clothes. However, the lady was still really nice, helping Rain out with her money situation, and even letting her in on two important facts. The bank had a card system, probably like modern-day banks, and there was a square somewhere in town with a bunch of leather shops.
Rain, having gotten her bag, put her last coin inside, which fit nicely into a little compartment, and decided to put it on underneath her cloak. It would be harder for people to steal things this way, plus it was small enough that it didn't look obvious that she had a bag on. Happy with herself, Rain started to skip her way back to the Aeitha Guard Building. 'She was going to need to come up with some sort of abbreviation for that place. Maybe AGB,' she thought to herself.
Before she got very far, Rain thought of something. She could see that the suns were going to set soon, and she still had plenty of time until she had to meet up tomorrow morning, so Rain wanted to go do something. She didn't know what she wanted to do, but thinking about it she thought it might not be a bad idea to sit by the cliffs and listen to the ocean as the sun sets. After all, this was going to be her first night, so why not go see a sunset?
Rain turned around and started to make her way out of the town. The guards looked at her confused for a second, but once they saw the white fur, they got the answer that they were going to ask. Rain still had her hood on as well, her white hair flowing down to her shoulders and ever so slightly out of the cloak, like a mini-waterfall. She turned towards the cliff and started to make her way over. The more she walked, the louder the breaking of the waves became. Rain couldn't help but begin to smile as she neared the edge.
She stopped before getting to the ledge, preferring to be a little distance away, for her own safety. She sat down and looked out to the horizon. The sun was setting in the opposite direction, but Rain was okay with that. She would undoubtedly come back here another time in order to watch the sunrise. She closed her eyes and sat there peacefully listening to the sounds of the ocean below, and the nightly creatures starting to come out. She sat there for some time just enjoying the sounds. Rain opened her eyes, a new sense of calm and serenity could be seen in them as she slowly stood up. She turned and started to make her way back to Aeitha, ready for what the new day would bring her.
