Chapter 6 - The Royal Aegis, II

Dragging his feet through the dirt, gradually dirtying and darkening his golden greaves; he felt like hours had passed to this point.

Thinking about it more, made Millie realize how different this world was from his.

Whenever he looked up, he was seemingly greeted by strange celestial bodies looming overhead. In his time, there was only two moons and a sun. Now, there was a strange planet with expansive rings extending out from it.

Across the expansive sky, was a bright pale blue, with rarely a cloud.

Slinking along, his head pointed upwards, he talked to himself.

His green eyes reflected the white puffs of grey and massive bodies above him.

"…Heheh… if't f'r True Liege ⟄⌾⍓⟟☊⌾ h're to gaze on thee, sky, I'm sure he'd die of surprise."

Memories of his original era had filled Millie's thoughts.

Running through a pasture of bright green, large stone slabs sprinkling the vast ground while covered in runes, that jutted out of the ground. Blasts of wind shifted through his hair, with a pale cold that he did not hate. Not another person in sight; just himself and the divinities.

Now, the world seemed corrupted, even worse than what he saw when he finally perished.

"Halt."

Pulled back to reality, he was surrounded by others, who were all mounted on horses. He knew they were there, but was unsure if they would leave him be, or not. The answer was the latter.

Each and every one was armed in some way, from swords and spears, to some strange weapon he did not recognize; that had an arrow inside it, all were at the ready.

Dried blood on Millie's arm made them all cautious to him.

The leader of the group was clad in heavy iron armor, entirely encased in it.

From the slits of the helmet, was a feminine voice.

"State your business."
