Chapter 33 - Epsis & Lilith. 2

NPCs are classified by specific categories in God-like online.

Ordinary NPCs, also called ordinary villagers. They can give quests ranging from ordinary, intermediate, and rare. But apart from quests, they also own inns, mines, or with governors' statuses who can grant special permits to stay longer in cities.

Then comes the special NPCs. They are hidden among ordinary NPCs; therefore difficult to locate them. Some are instructors, while others are even plebeians; you have to either be lucky, know them in advance through the forums, or the announcement of the game masters, or accomplish something special to hope to locate them and trigger the quests.

These groups of NPCs can give class quests or other special quests that yield more. Their greatest uses are that it is possible to earn their trust and employ them as bodyguards or farmers, depending on the activity they do.

Naturally, they will be more useful than players performing the same activity. For example, a sword instructor will be freer to use his sword skills than a swordsman class player. Finally, it may be to establish the balance between players and NPCs; this is not surprising as a decision, given the excessive level of freedom this game offered its players.

Then there are the warrior NPCs. They are as their names indicate them. Acting like players from other worlds, they are intelligent, strong, and have all the advantages that players have in the game.

Finally, superior-class NPCs. They are more powerful than 99% of players and bosses since their appearances, the last remaining are barely able to play the same with them. To hope to defeat them, months of preparation are necessary to prepare for any eventuality.

This last category contains NPCs ranging from legendary heroes, ancestral dragons, demigods/Demigoddesses, and deities.

I don't care about their classes or powers. What interests me and has always fascinated me is their cheated powers.

Even after obtaining the title of dim-god, I had not been able to obtain the cheated power that would allow me to match them in a singular fight.

As he wandered in his thoughts, he came back to himself when he saw the blurred appearance of his two maids.

Lith was the first to complete the task that Isaac had given her.

Her alluring appearance had not undergone any major changes. But it obtained some additional characteristics, some of which could be perceptible to the naked eye, such as her two long horns and draconian wings.

'She's joking, isn't she? Why does she consider this heritage to be the weakest in her arsenal?' Isaac mutters in his mind carefully scrutinizing each part of Lilith's body with warming eyes.

Seeing that she didn't have a tail, his frown increased. 'She activated not one, but two inheritances at the same time. At first glance, her appearance resembles that of a humanoid dragon, but since she has no tail...- sigh, anyone cares. The main thing is that she is sealed her powers.'

He shakes his head with a heavy sigh before focusing on Epsis. The latter had two cat ears above her head and a feline tail above her wide buttocks that were cramped in her maid's outfit.

And unlike Lilith, she was equipped with two black daggers on which were engraved runes that were just as mysterious as they were threatening. Her irises also evolved to mauve vertical.

'Sigh, I'll have to ask them then to erase this curiosity that gnaws my heart.' He ignores his useless thoughts before focusing on the pentagrams under the feet of his two maids.

The same phenomenon happened with them as what happened with Jane.

The runes crawled around their bodies like snakes and gradually disappeared into their bodies, leaving the same darkness on them as on Jane's body.

"KAHAHA!!!" King Tamers burst out laughing when he saw that his skill was working on both.

His unpleasant voice but softened by his greed could not hide the immense joy he felt as he saw the two girls stagnate like motionless rocks.

Isaac also frowns when he sees the silences that did not resemble them.

But suddenly, his eyes widened with understanding. But before he confirmed the hypothesis that had just invaded his mind, Lilith's voice reached his ears.

"Should we take care of these...humans and the few weak creatures that are in their ranks?"

Even if she whispered these lines in a light and low voice, Isaac and the others could perfectly hear her.

'...I see, their inactions are due to my fault.' He shakes his head with an ironic smile while indexing Jane.

"First neutralize this girl and prevent her from hurting herself or committing suicide. It's your top priority. If possible, try not to kill the knight in full armor too." He then focuses on King Tamers and Kevin. "As for others, do what you want from others; I don't care."

As soon as the two heard it, they took action.

Lilith was the first to make a quick decision. But instead of the raid, she prioritized Jane's safety.

But against all odds, she didn't move from her place, nor cast a spell.

Instead, her blood-red eyes stared at Jane. "Just come here." She says in a whispering voice but loud enough for everyone to hear her.

As soon as her order resounds in Jane's ears, Jane's legs, moving by themselves, made their way towards Isaac, standing next to Lilith.

This mystery not only surprised King Tamers, who believed he had absolute control over Jane, but even Isaac was somewhat surprised.

Waking up in his dizziness, King Tamers leafed through his book before stopping on Jane's page. He urgently placed his palm above the page containing Jane's information and looked at Jane's back. "No! Stay here!"

While shrieking these words, the page of his book shines with a deep blue glow, testifying that he was strengthening his powers of control over her.

But Jane, despite her desire to return to her master, her body disobeyed her.

'Mental control; a power specific to vampires. As I had already explained, what makes vampires scary is not their strengths or speeds, but their skills. The more a vampire is blessed with a pure and ancient bloodline, the more frightening its ability became.

-Given that this girl has activated two legacies at once, one of which is the lost heritage of the vampire queen, her mental control will not only be limited to the mind but even if her prey is asleep. Ight, I hope the necklace's powerful enough to prevent them from rebelling; I can't help but doubt its powers.

-The second inheritance she awakened is probably the gift of a dragon. Her wings and horns resemble those of dragons when they transform into their humanoid forms---... Will, can she turn into a dragon shape? Only in this way would I see what kind of draconian heritage she has awakened. But...-

"Kill this bitch!" Seeing that he no longer had control over Jane, King Tamer gives this order to his other puppets.

'Is Cindy finally going to move?' Isaac mutters while looking next to him.

But to his great stupefaction, the girl he wanted to see at work was no longer next to him.

His eyes quickly scrutinize through the crowd, who wanted to flood over Jane, in the hope of locating Epsis and seeing her at work. But instead of her body, all he could see was a bright shadow that flashed among the others at a speed barely visible to him.

In the same second, his system became noisy, announcing XP points, and the rewards shared fairly by him and his teammates.

These notifications allowed him to conclude that Epsis was carrying out a bloody massacre; although he saw the others still steering towards Jane.

In the same second, when Epsis's silhouette pop up in front of the wolf, the former players she had just passed collapsed to the ground and turned into pixels.

Staggering back in the face of the sudden emergence of Epsis, King Tamers urgently bellowed at his two most powerful minions. "Prevent this from reaching me! You can hurt her, but not kill her!"

Always guided by his avarice, he could only see the gains he could gain from it when he got one of the two.

Kevin's eyes became dark as he stretched out King Tamers' orders. "Hey, kid! You have to order your toys to kill this bitch! She is stronger than y...-

"Shut up! I know what I'm doing! I need these two NPCs!" He roared towards Kevin as if he was going to attack him from the next.

"..." Kevin remains silent with a torrent of rage in his heart when he saw his teammate's mad eyes towards him.

'Fuck! Don't this bastard see that this slut is more dangerous than men!? Why does he always let himself be guided by his balls!?' His heart was bleeding in his chest as he saw his last men being massacred by Epsis.

Following the orders of their master, Abdel and the wolf of hell go on the offensive!

A blood-red halo appears on Abdel's sword, which warned.

Then, his imposing body, carried by the wind, became as light as a feather as he hopped towards Epsis.

Aware of Abdel's assault, Epsis blocks his attack by crossing her two daggers above her.

*Dull noise!!*

A crater appears under Epsis's heels when she barred Abdel's attack. But she did not bend or show difficulties in the face of Abdel's assault.

Her body of about 180cm, turned out to be as powerful as Abdel's, which was 200Cm~!

A cruel smile then occurs on her lips when she saw Abdel frown under his helmet.

With a quick movement, she pushes Abdel back.

But before she pays back Abdel, the hell's wolf spits black flames on her.

...

"Which of these two is strong?" Isaac mutters thoughtfully while looking at the wolf of hell and Abdel that he already knew his level.

"None of them, Master," Lilith, next to him, answers his question.

"Huh? ...Lith, I was not talking about their level about both of you, but by comparing them." Even if he was surprised at the answer, he was able to take charge by forgetting his feelings of being insulted.

While putting away a few strands of her hair behind her slightly pointed ear, she looks at Isaac with a smile. "Why are you talking about just the two of us, master? Have you sealed your powers or...-

"Just answer my question." Isaac interrupts her in an authoritarian voice before she finishes her speculation.

Isaac's response and sudden change of mood made Lilith frown.

"The wolf and this fallen knight are at the same approximate level." She says in a monotonous voice.

"...I see," Isaac answers nonchalantly.

"If you allow me, master, I would like to make you a bid."

"Hm?"

"I think this wolf will be more useful to you than the knight."

Frowning, Isaac briefly looks at Lilith. "What makes you sure about?"

"...Unlike the corrupt knight, this wolf is still immature; I think it will be more powerful than this knight when it reaches maturity."

"..."
