Chapter 2 - Gangster

Turning around on the mattress a few times, seeing that he would not be able to sleep no matter how he tried.

'Great, another night of insomnia!' He screamed in his head with extreme frustration.

Not knowing what to do, he sat up and started thinking about his life.

He is Leon Maxwell,

A bastard, an illegitimate son of the Maxwell family.

His mother got pregnant, dumped, and forgotten by the heir of the Maxwell family. One of the most wealthy and powerful families on Earth.

She later died giving birth to him. So with no parent or guardian to take care of Leon, Leon was left in an orphanage.

Feeding him and other orphans since he was a child till he reached ten years, the orphanage then decided to dump him out of the orphanage along with other children of their age.

It couldn't be helped, this was their tradition, a routine they do every year.

They do this because their resources are not enough to cover all these children, so they simply throw away the oldest child set (Ten-year-old Children) out of the orphanage every year so the children would learn to fend for themselves.

So every year, Ten-year-old children are banished away from the Orphanage.

Banished from the orphanage, all those children parted their different ways.

But there was this girl Leon was close to, her name was Lia. They did not part way like others but stuck together through every struggle.

At this point of thought, Leon turned and looked at the girl sleeping peacefully beside him.

This is Lia. She is seventeen years just like him and has a voluptuous shape. Her beautiful face, curvy waist, and perfectly sized breasts made her attractive.

This was the girl he had struggled through life with after they were banished from the orphanage.

After being banished from the orphanages, they simply traveled to the slums/ghetto because only in that place would they be able to fend for themselves, both food and shelter without trouble.

If they stay in the city where the orphanage is located then they would die starving as nothing is cheap there.

So they had to choose the ghetto, because not only would they have their freedom intact, but also most of the things there are so cheap and downgraded to the version that they would be able to afford... But in exchange for all these, there is high insecurity in the slums, crimes like theft and murder are rare here, but when compared to the City, The slums could be said to be a dangerous place.

So the Slum is akin to the jungle, where you are free to do anything you want.

The people who lived some could not afford city life. There were some people who had lost their cultivation and could no longer go into dungeons to make money or orphans like Leon and those whose parents died in dungeons.

Although laws were followed in Slum/Ghetto places as well, they were quite lax compared to cities. Murder and crimes were rare occurrences, but unless you were caught, you were pretty much a free soul in such areas.

But despite being free, some things rule these slums from the dark...Gangs!

From small gangs consisting of seven members to large powerful gangs that have more than a hundred gangsters.

These gangs are feared the most, as the leaders of these gangs are either in the Qi refining realm or the Qi liquidating realm, and their every word is treated as an order from the Gods.

Equipped with all the knowledge of slums and how to survive in them, Leon and Lia, came and started living here, using a dilapidated building as a home.

At that time, they sold hot tea and coffee in the streets with the small savings they had.

Ever since then, life has gotten harder. Every day was a desperate struggle to live and eat.

Now and then, these gangs would do a routine check in the surrounding collecting 'Tax' from smaller gangs, stores, and anyone who did business in the Slums, Lia and Leon's tea shop was not an exception.

Leon and Lia had once sworn not to ever join a gang even when they got beaten and robbed of their daily earnings.

They could endure the beatings, and people robbing them of their earnings, but they immediately entered a gang for protection when a member of one popular gang, attempted to rape Lia.

Ever since that time, they decided to join a gang, because only through gangs would they be able to protect themselves and survive the ghetto/Slums.

Even when they choose to join gangs, none of the gangs in the neighborhood agree to accept them, for some reason, the only gang that later accepted them was a small gang that had about Eight members, Leon and Lia making it a ten-gangster group.

They do raids every week and manage what they have.

These gangs do things the Robin Hood way, stealing from helpless rich children who are courageous enough to visit the slum now and then.

Even so, stealing was not easy for them, as they always ended up with one or two bruises when the crowd started chasing them. Though they were stealing, they didn't like stealing.

But still, they have to steal some money to survive in the slums. So, they usually save up thirty percent of their every raid to start a collective business in the city where things are safe from the Ghetto gangs and also to save up money so that they would cure Leon of his heart disease.

It had been diagnosed when Leon was in the orphanage that he had an unknown heart disease ever since he was a child.

The disease made it difficult to breathe whenever he did hardcore work that required stamina. Nevertheless, Leon lived with this disease stopping him from going far in life.

Time passed and passed, and the gang was getting closer to their goal, three more raids, and They would be out of the Ghetto!

The gangs Leo and Lia chose were the ones formed by their former inmates in the orphanage.

After three raids, they would now have enough money to rent a store in the city, stock it up with goods, and start a real business in the city.

According to their plans, all the gang members would have a percentage of the sales of the store, and the members of this gang want to quit stealing before it becomes part of them.

But after passing through all this, without hearing a single word from his family, Leon's anger began to intensify.

He swore that one day, he would make every one of them pay for making him and his dead mother suffer so much.

Leon thought about how the Maxwell family was in the city, enjoying their high status while he and his mother were left to rot and be forgotten.

Heck, his father never even bothered for one second to come to check out how his mother was doing.

Ever since Leon came to the slums, he became a real sinner, became a thief, and a murderer.

Everything about him has changed.

He could still remember vividly the first human he killed
