From the stat window, I realized that it functions just like any RPG game, where people typically increase their stats by leveling up. "So, the question is, which stat should I focus on improving first?" I pondered. After careful consideration, I decided to prioritize my mana and skills. This way, I can avoid suspicion by not making any visible changes while harnessing the power of the system.
In this manner, another three years have swiftly passed, allowing me to gather more knowledge about this world. It turns out that others also have access to a system, but they have different classes that determine their physical and mana attributes. For instance, my father's class is Sword Lord, emphasizing strength, constitution, and dexterity, while his mana stat is non-existent. His class rank is capped at B+, meaning his stats and skill rank cannot surpass that level. On the other hand, my mother is an Wind Mage, with most of her stats focused on mana and mana recovery, while her other stats resemble those of a regular human. I learned about this information while my mom was narrating a story about how Lord Indira, a deity, introduced classes to the people of this world.
Speaking of classes, mine is related to raising the dead, a skill that seems unrelated to my reincarnation. Just yesterday, I successfully raised my first undead. This month, I befriended a girl named Maria, the daughter of one of our housemaids. My mom allows me to play with her since Maria accompanies her mother to our estate for work. Yesterday, while building sandcastles, Maria noticed an injured sparrow lying on the grass. "Aww, poor thing, I think its leg is broken," she said, her eyes welling up with tears. I couldn't understand why children are so sensitive. To comfort her, I suggested that I could find a cloth to wrap around the bird's leg. Her face lit up with joy upon hearing my offer. I quickly retrieved a piece of my old t-shirt from my room and carefully wrapped it around the sparrow's injured leg. "Maria, I heard your mother calling for you. Don't worry about the bird; I'll release it in a safe place," I assured her. Maria agreed and left. Later, in the backyard when nobody was around, I pinched the sparrow's neck, causing it to emit a faint squeak and then rotate until its life faded from its eyes. I couldn't help but ponder why people hold such affection for adorable creatures like dogs and sparrows while showing no remorse when it comes to taking the lives of other innocent beings, such as chickens or crows. It struck me as a peculiar contradiction, a gathering of hypocrites, I thought to myself. "Rise and shine, Sunshine," I muttered as I activated my basic undead skill. I felt a slight twitch in the sparrow, and its broken neck miraculously realigned itself. The sparrow looked completely unharmed, its gaze meeting mine as it obediently bowed its head. "Good, it's even better than I expected. There are no physical differences from before, but I can sense that its soul has already departed its shell," I noted. I conducted some experiments, making the undead sparrow fly around the estate, and to my amazement, I discovered I could see through its eyes if I concentrated. Furthermore, I could give it commands, such as patrolling the estate, and later review its memories like a recording device.
Later, I discovered that I could also control insects like caterpillars, ants, and worms, making them my subordinates. Every once in a while, I would use them to play harmless pranks on Maria since I knew she was scared of caterpillars.
One day, while we were walking together, I discreetly summoned a caterpillar and directed it to crawl onto Maria's shoulder. As soon as she noticed the little creature, she let out a high-pitched scream and started swatting at it frantically. I couldn't hold back my laughter, finding her reaction both amusing and endearing
"This will definitely come in handy when I set my plans in motion," I thought to myself, a mischievous smile playing on my lips
"Honey, how did your meeting with Principal Matthew go?" Raman inquired. "He agreed to accept Sharry in class 2A and expressed excitement to witness his progress," Ajit replied. "I'm not sure if it's wise for Sharry to get too close to others, but we don't have any other choice. Magus Xavier is one of the top schools in the city. I just hope Sharry doesn't get into trouble. I'm worried about him," Raman added with concern.
The following day, Maria's mother, Lily, woke me up in the morning. "Young master, the lady asked me to dress you for school," she said. "It's okay, I can handle it myself," I replied.
"So this is Magus Xavier High School, huh?" I exclaimed, gazing at the six-story school building adorned with a dedicated church, a theater hall, a playground, a dueling arena, and a magnificent fountain surrounded by beautiful gardens. It might just be the most breathtaking place I've seen since my reincarnation in this world.
"All new students, please gather in the assembly hall," announced a woman with an impressive figure. There were hundreds of new students this year. "Good morning, students. I am Father Matthew, but you can also address me as Principal Matthew. I founded this school to unlock the potential of the future generation. I hope all of you study diligently to progress in your classes, or else you may find yourselves stuck in the same class like Mr. Paul here," Father Matthew said, pointing at a thin boy who appeared ashamed.
"Now, I encourage you to interact with each other, make friends, and engage in competition. Nothing here is handed to you; everything must be earned," added Father Matthew.
"The bald uncle isn't very nice," whispered a tall boy standing next to me. "I wouldn't want him to overhear your comments. I've heard that he possesses a skill allowing him to read people's emotions in great detail. You don't want him finding out what you said, as he dislikes being called a baldie," I replied.
I could see the boy shiver for a moment. Later, the floor coordinator led us to our respective classrooms.
The classroom appeared like any typical classroom, with wooden benches and desks. I discovered that our class had a total of 69 students, and out of them, 30 were girls. "That's a pretty good ratio, and especially that girl with glasses over there, she has such a cute face," I thought to myself as I walked towards her, intending to strike up a conversation.
"Sharry!" I heard Maria shout as she ran towards me and pulled me towards her seat. "Let's sit here. I reserved this seat for us because we're best friends," she declared.
"Who said we're best friends?" I retorted. "The last thing I remember, you threw mud at me because I beat you in the hide and seek game."
"Well, that's because you cheated! I don't know how, but you somehow knew my hiding spot as if you had eyes on the back of your head," she objected.
I chuckled, realizing that I had used Chi Chi, the sparrow, to find her hiding spot. "Okay, kids, our first class is Math," announced a stern-looking woman, likely our math teacher. I despised every aspect of math, so in that class, I didn't learn anything; I was too lost in my thoughts, fixated on the girl with the glasses.
"I wonder how this will all unfold," I pondered silently.
