Chapter 10 - A Real Friend(2)

Kinda annoying to be honest, but whatever. "I am sorry to have forgotten you, my queen. Please don't cut my head off."

Ajeng looked stunned for a moment, before then chuckling. "Hehe sorry. Just kidding. Anyway, let's start all over again." Ajeng raised her hands towards the front of my body. "Hi, my name is Ajeng. I am one of the nobles of 'The Evil Slayer', the nobles are famous for their sharp weapons skill. Most of the family members of our nobility became Royal Troops. So cool, right? My dream also is to become the head of the Royal Troops. In addition, I want us to be friends and closer than ever."

I smiled and grabbed her hands so we both shook hands with each other now. "Hi too! My name is In- Sekar and I am very happy to be friends with you. Greetings and hope we can be good friends."

Ajeng raised her eyebrows. "Already? Just like that?"

"What else do you want? Should I lick your shoes?"

"Haaaah. Oh yeah, I forgot you're not able to remember anything right now, because well, normally you would-" Before Ajeng finished speaking, her voice stopped because of the sound of the steps of people entering the room. I see my mother walking with an old man walking behind her entering this room.

The old man looks half bald and his face is covered with a mustache and beard. He is wearing a pretty plain white robe while carrying a large box. He smiled kindly when he saw me. "Young lady, I'm glad that you finally woke up from your coma. How do you feel now? Does your body feel pain?"

Young lady? Ah right! I'm a noble lady now.

Then this old man must be an alchemist.

"No. I feel fine."

"Alright. But still, I'll check your body."

He put down his large box and opened it. Its contents astonished me. One side contained various kinds of medical devices made of silver, while the other is filled with various medicinal herbs and potions. He then took some tools and began to examine me carefully, starting from the eyes, mouth, hands, feet, heartbeat, and so on.

After 10 minutes, he put all his tools back in the box and looked at my mother. "It's a miracle, Madam. Her body is perfectly healthy and there was no sign of injury or disease on her as if she had been born again."

"But she can't remember me."

"Really?" The alchemist looked at me. "Sorry, young lady. But, do you remember me?"

"...No..."

"Alright. She has amnesia."

How can you decide that so easily?

The alchemist then took one of the large bottles out of his box. Poured the contents into a glass and thrust it at me. "Sorry, but please drink this herbal medicine, young lady."

I see the glass filled with brownish water. Just smelling it makes me want to throw it far away. The smell of a wide variety of herbs is very peculiar and pungent. "I'm sorry, but should I drink this?"

"Yes, you must! For your health! You just woke up from a coma so your body is very weak now." The doctor answered firmly.

I looked at my mom and then Ajeng, asking for help. But instead, they looked at me sternly. Their eyes seemed to be telling me in silence to drink it immediately. I grimaced in annoyance. There is no other choice.

Immediately, I took a glass of the drink. With closing my eyes, I immediately drank it until the herbal drink ran out in one gulp. As expected, it was very bitter and spicy, piercing my throat. My tongue also feels numb.

When I finished, I caught the three of them looking at me with a smile. Are you guys happy to see me suffer?

The alchemist turned around and talked to mom. "She's healthy and there's nothing to worry about, Madam. Just eat a lot, rest a lot and drink a lot of herbs then her body will completely recover. About her amnesia, it can recover over time. Madam can tell her some memories so she can remember them faster. If something is wrong, Madam can contact me as soon as possible."

"Alright. Thank you."

The Alchemist nodded. He then took 3 large bottles containing herbs that were the same color as the herbs I had just drunk. He gave that 3 bottles to Ajeng. " Make sure that the young lady drinks these herb potions 1 glass 3 times every day until all the herbs have been drunk."

Ajeng who received it looked at the 3 bottles in her arms, then moved to look at the Alchemist, and then looked at me. I could see her face forming an irritating smirk expression.

Shit, I have a bad feeling.

"All Right, Sir! I'll make sure the 'Young Lady' drinks it every day!" She said very cheerfully and happily. The Alchemist responds with a friendly nod.

Damn, you two agreed to torture me?

"Hey, I don't need that! I'm perfectly healthy, okay? So I don't have to drink that!" After I shouted that, mom approached and stroked my hair. "It's for your health, my lovely daughter. Don't think about it and just take some rest now. When it's lunchtime, I'll wake you up. You should eat and rest a lot for now."

My mother kissed me on the forehead. I really can't argue with this woman. I could only shut up and nod softly.

My mom smiled, then looked at Ajeng. "Ajeng, do you want to go home now?"

"Can I stay here, Aunt? I want to make sure this child is resting safely and that nothing happens to her again."

"You are a good friend. Alright, make sure she's resting properly. I trust her to you."

"Sure! I'll make sure she gets enough sleep and always drinks her herbs!"

Look like you just want to make sure I do the second thing...

My mother then smiled and stepped out with The Alchemist after saying goodbye once more. The doors closed gently and the atmosphere returned to silence.

"Well, young lady." Ajeng looked at me while saying something in an annoying tone. "I will guard around you, so you 'The Young Lady' can rest comfortably."

"Why should you bother doing this? Go home and do your thing."

"But I don't want to". Ajeng climbed onto the bed and pushed me to lie down and straighten my legs. "Why? Because I'm your best friend, of course." She pulled the blanket over me. Her face formed a sad smile. "And...I've been waiting for you to wake up. I'm not gonna let anything happen to you again."

I was stunned. I did not expect Sekar's character was friendly and familiar with Ajeng. I feel guilty. How would she feel if she knew I wasn't the real Sekar?

"What happened to me before I went into a coma?" I'm asking.

"You rest first, I'll tell you later." Ajeng stroked my hair gently while humming. The hum is so soft and beautiful, made my eyes heavy. I couldn't bear all this comfort and ended up falling asleep.

Before my consciousness completely disappeared, I heard a faint soft voice. "Have a good rest, o savior of my life."
