Under the brightly lit sidewalk, the pair walked unaware that danger lurked nearby.
It was Rhyland who first noticed something was wrong.
Someone. Something was following them. It had been constantly staying 20 feet away from them. Ever since they left the train station. They were being hunted.
Rhyland swore.
He couldn't risk leading whoever this was to their place of lodging so at the last moment they took a turn a block from their hotel.
Understandably, Aubrey was confused.
"Rhyland, where are—" she looked to him in question before her eyes widened in understanding.
"We're being followed." Rhyland mouthed.
Aubrey swallowed audibly. She can tell from the look on Rhyland's face that things were serious. They were in danger. Her heartbeat quickened and she began to sweat.
