"You want to work with him!? He tried to kill me!" Aubrey hissed in a low voice at Rhyland who sat beside her.
Across from them a still pale faced Dimitri responded flatly. "I can hear you loud and clear, human."
Aubrey scooted closer to Rhyland. She didn't like Dimitri's eyes. The man appeared deceptive. He looked like he had something up his sleeve. Can he really be trusted?
That morning the trio sat in the study deliberating their plan of action.
"Dimitri stand down." Rhyland said in a warning tone and the other man raised his hands in mock defeat before leaning back against the couch.
"Bree, Dimitri will provide us access to the Council's archive. We may be able to find a clue about your condition over there. In the meantime, he and I will take turns protecting you. Dimitri will keep silent about your existence to the council."
"Still… How do I know that he's not going to do anything to me? He's a werewolf."
