He felt as if he had been bulldozed into this situation. Rhyland utterly detested that feeling. And he can't help but resent the woman in front of him. He still loved her dearly and would lay down his life for her but tonight, just tonight he couldn't stand to be in the same room as her.
"I did it!" Aubrey said out loud when she was alone in the room. "She's prevented more killings from happening." She was supposed to feel relieved and victorious but somehow she wasn't. Instead she felt stuffy and anxious. She achieved her goal but her relationship with Rhyland was not any better. The man still insisted to sleep in the guest room all to her ire and dismay.
She obviously did a good thing. She saved people's lives then why did it feel like she was the asshole?
