Chapter 34 - Engagement party

The day of the engagement party was finally here. Guests were trooping into the grand auditorium like ants.

They decided to use an auditorium for the engagement party since they had already decided on using the Reyes' mansion for the reception party after the wedding at the church.

The parking lots and driveways were filled with cars. The event had already begun. There were some few reporters who were there to witness the event with their crew, photographers took photos to their fill.

Soft music filled the air, some people danced to it while some simply enjoyed the exquisite refreshments.

Davian sat on a chair that had a round table with other chairs surrounding it. With him was his mother and friends.

"Woah dude. This...this is awesome," Lucas said.

"Yeah. Davian, I know you explained to us that you guys met and fell in love as like it was love at first sight but...Ah, don't you think you might regret this in the future?" Ray asked.

"How's so?" Davian asked.

"I mean, just look at this party...it just shows how rich your fiancée is. Isn't she domineering?" Ray asked further.

"Not to me," Davian replied, not even sure of his answer, because Silvia is- Sometimes.

"How is her family? Do they accept you? Don't they think you must be a gold digger like in those telenovelas?" Sarah asked.

They didn't know, he didn't explain that part to them. That he was portrayed as a rich tycoon to her parents.

"You watch too many telenovelas, Sarah," Becca chastised her.

"No they don't. I really don't think so and I'm not," Davian responded.

"Never said you were," Sarah added.

"But I still can't take this all in, you know. Our Davian is about to get married to the tycoon queen, Silvia Reyes," Sarah continued.

"It's crazy, man," Lucas seconded.

"Nothing is too impossible or crazy to be true," Davian said.

His eyes went to Silvia who was welcoming some guests with her parents. To most of the business icons and tycoons here, events like these were just formalities to gather more allies and strengthen the previous alliances.

Silvia soon left them immediately Sentencia and Olivia walked in.

"I thought you would never come," Silvia welcomed them.

"It wasn't easy convincing her father to let her come with me. You need to see me, love. I was literally preaching. Telling him it was just a girl's night out and I'd only stop by your engagement party after dropping Olivia back home," Cia whined.

"I don't think he bought it," Silvia said.

"Who cares. Thank goodness Axel wasn't home, with her mother's help we were finally allowed to leave," Cia elaborated.

"I really don't get why they're so against my friendship with Olivia or why she's being caged like a kid. I mean, the incident happened like since eternity and it wasn't my fault it did," Silvia scoffed.

"Okay, okay. We are finally here, so let's enjoy the party," Olivia suggested.

"Fine, fine, but you really need to stand up for these rights sometimes. You're a grown up woman, Olivia," Silvia said and Olivia just nodded.

At some point in the party, Davian joined the Reyes in welcoming some guests as they introduced him.

The party was going smoothly.

The music stopped, it was time for the proposing. Davian and Silvia climbed majestically on the stairs of a dais onto the dais which was located at the middle of the auditorium. It was round and well decorated, a huge chandelier hung up above it.

Silvia was dressed in a beautiful white gown while Davian was on a black suit. Davian brought out a small transparent glass box which contained an engagement ring, a new one and she had already dispatched of the previous one.

He got down on one knee in a proposing posture. The auditorium was dead silent as most people waited in excitement. There were mini mics and speakers on the dais and so they could be heard.

Davian started; "Silvia Reyes, this moment is one of the best of my life and I'll forever cherish it,"

Silvia didn't know if she should laugh.

"From the very first moment I met you, my brains cells stopped working and the only thing that was working was my heart as it beats for you," She didn't know when she started blushing. She didn't know he could get this flattery.

"This is like a dream come true and I can't wait for the day we'll finally say I do, till nothing do us apart. The day I'll finally be able to call you my wife. I love you so much, Silvia Reyes," Silvia felt her heart stop beating for a moment there even though she knew he didn't mean anything he said.

"Will you do me the honor of making me the happiest man on earth by marrying me?, by becoming my wife? Marry me, Silvia Reyes. Silvia Reyes, will you marry me?" Davian asked.

"Yes. Yes, I will." Silvia responded.

The auditorium was filled with applause as everyone stood up from their seats and applauded the lovely couple. Davian smiled and wore the ring on her long and slender finger, he stood up and held Silvia's cheek and their lips were connected in the next second.

Silvia's eyes widened in surprise, she knew it was necessary but she really didn't expected it that suddenly and the way he just kissed her so freely, was he that good an actor?

Davian pulled away but their faces were still inches apart. He smirked at her taken aback expression before he shut his eyes and deepened the kiss, Silvia shut her eyes too and kissed him back and it was like they entered another different world entirely.

Their lips were so soft on each other's as it moved skillfully, it was like a competition to see who the best kisser was. The applause from the crowd was what brought them to the real world before they'll dive deeper with their tongues or worst, hehe.

They stopped kissing, their eyes held each other's.

They moved onto cutting of the engagement cake, then Davian and Silvia began their dance after. They danced at the dais also as everyone watches them.

His hand was on her waist while the other held her hand, her other hand rested on his shoulder as they danced skillfully. They had already prepared and practiced for it together.

Silvia avoided eye contact, he noticed. He leaned down at her. His voice in a whisper and his fresh hot breath on her bare neck made her to jolt a little.

"What are you thinking about?" he asked.

"Uh, nothing," she lied.

"Are you still thinking about the kiss?" he asked further.

"Hell no, why would that even be on my mind? I have other important issues to waste my brain cells on," she remarked and he chuckled.

"It's not really hard you know," he said.

"Huh?" she inquired puzzled.

"Would it be so hard for you to admit to yourself that you want me...so badly," he said, his voice still in a husky whisper. It was seducing.

"I don't have to, because I don't," she replied.

"Will it be so hard for you to ask me to kiss you again?" he continued.

'What is wrong with him?' she thought.

"To ask me to explore your mouth and the rest of your body with my hot tongue," he said and blood rushed to her ears and cheeks.

"For me to do all sort of sinful things to your body till you beg for me in need. Beg for us to be one, for me to be inside you as I f*ck your senses away, making love to you higher than climax," he added.

Her eyes met his, it was half mischievous and half serious. She can't believe he could spout such things, she swallowed as she continues to stare back at him. He was putting crazy ideas into her head.

"A-Are those the things you fantasise about?" she managed to say.

"No, princess. Those are the things you will fantasise about from now on," he winked at her.

"Shush," he shushed her as she was about to react.

"You and I know the kiss was necessary, Ms. Reyes, so please don't get all worked up. Was I that good? But it was only a tiny piece of the real pie." he continued.

All worked up?! She wasn't worked up, this man! His head must be in the clouds, he sounded drunk.

"I would never kiss you. I was only doing my job, what you are paying me for," he assured.

For some reason, his last few words caused a spang at her heart. "Of course," she said.

She looked away as they continued their dance.

The D-Day was finally today.

Today was the wedding day. Only close family, friends and well wishers were at the church premises.

Davian was already at the alter dressed in his finely custom suit as he waited for his bride. Silvia was there soon. She looked so beautiful in her wedding gown as she walked down the aisle. A smile imprinted on her beautiful face as her amber eyes focused on only Davian.

He took her hand when she got to him and he smiled at her. The priest commenced the wedding almost immediately.

"Now, Silvia Reyes...do you take this man, Davian Randell as your lovely wedded husband?"

"Yes I do,"

"Okay. Now, Davian Randell...do you take this woman as your lovely wedded wife?"

Then a gun shot was heard and everything became almost inaudible immediately as time moved in a slow motion.
