Chapter 6 - Seraphina Moonshade

As the morning sun gently illuminated the room, baby Alex slowly opened his eyes, still adjusting to his new surroundings. But before he could fully take in the world around him, a gnawing hunger gnashed at his tiny stomach. His baby instincts kicked in, and he knew there was only one way to demand food—crying.

With all the enthusiasm of a one-day-old baby, Alex let out a loud wail, expressing his need for nourishment. The room was filled with the sound of his cries, drawing the attention of Cynthia and the maids who had been waiting eagerly for his first awakening.

"Oh, little Alex is hungry already!" Cynthia cooed as she quickly scooped him up into her arms, ready to feed her newborn son.

But as Cynthia gently tried to guide him towards her breast, Alex's eyes widened, and his face turned red as a ripe tomato. It was an adorable sight, as if he was blushing from the mere thought of what he was about to do.

"Oh, look, he's blushing! Isn't he just the cutest thing?" Cynthia chuckled, finding the sight quite amusing.

The maids giggled as they watched baby Alex's embarrassed reaction, completely unaware of the inner turmoil he was experiencing. Alex, being a gentleman in his previous life, found himself caught in a comedic dilemma. He knew that the only way to satiate his hunger was to feed on his mother's breast, but he couldn't bring himself to look directly at them, let alone suckle.

He closed his eyes tightly, avoiding the inevitable situation, yet still letting out little whimpers of hunger. It was as if he was trying to will himself to stop being hungry, hoping the problem would magically disappear.

Cynthia playfully tried to guide him towards her breast, teasingly saying, "Oh, come on, little one, don't be shy! It's just your mother here."

But each time she attempted to help him latch on, he turned away, avoiding the inevitable. The maids found this whole situation rather amusing, assuming it was just typical baby behavior.

As the comedic scene continued, the maids and Cynthia found themselves laughing at baby Alex's adorable antics. They had no idea about the inner struggle he was facing—a mixture of embarrassment, gentlemanly principles, and a longing for a way to communicate his hunger without having to resort to this method.

After a few more playful attempts to coax him into feeding, Cynthia couldn't help but join in the laughter, thinking that her baby boy's blushing cheeks were the most endearing thing she had ever seen.

"Well, well, it seems our little gentleman has quite the unique approach to expressing his needs," Cynthia said with a warm smile.

Finally, the maids suggested trying a different approach, and with a bit of trial and error, they managed to find a way to feed baby Alex without making him too uncomfortable.

As the feeding went on, the maids and Cynthia continued to chuckle at the adorable and humorous moment they had shared with the newborn. Little did they know that deep inside baby Alex's mind, he was silently relieved that he had found a way to avoid compromising his gentlemanly principles.

As Pia entered the room with a bright smile on her face, she couldn't wait to share the good news. "My lady, the Lord of the Place will be arriving by noon! He's on his way to meet his newborn son," she announced with excitement.

Cynthia's face lit up with joy, and she hugged baby Alex even tighter. "Oh, that's wonderful news! My love will finally get to meet our little prince," she said, her voice filled with anticipation.

"And that's not all," Pia continued, "Your mother will be arriving at the same time, along with her entourage. She's eager to see her grandchild and bestow her blessings."

Cynthia's eyes sparkled with happiness as she thought about the upcoming family reunion. "I can't wait to see my mother and introduce her to Alex. It's going to be a special day."

Pia's expression turned slightly sour as she added, "And, my lady, some nobles from the capital will also be joining the celebrations."

Cynthia couldn't help but chuckle at the hint of disdain in Pia's voice. "Ah, those leechers," she mumbled, earning a knowing smile from the head maid.

"Yes, they are not even worthy of being in our young master's presence," Pia muttered, her loyalty to the Winterhaven family evident in her words.

"I couldn't agree more," Cynthia replied, sharing a playful wink with Pia. "But let's not let them spoil our happiness today. It's a day to celebrate the birth of our son, after all."

As the preparations for the lavish banquet began, the house was abuzz with excitement and anticipation. The maids worked tirelessly to ensure everything was perfect for the arrival of the Lord of the Place, Cynthia's mother, and the esteemed guests from the capital.

In Cynthia's room, Alex lay in her arms as she played with him and found him the cutest baby ever born in this world. Most of it was attributed to his hilarious expressions, especially from a while back when they tried to feed him. Myrine was beside them, trying to poke Alex as she attempted to snatch him from her mother's arms, but Cynthia held him firmly on her lap. Both mother and sister showered him with love and affection, enjoying every moment spent with their little brother.

Suddenly, a gust of wind flew past their faces, leaving Cynthia and Myrine astonished but smiling. Oblivious to all this, Alex was lost in his own thoughts. However, he suddenly felt like leaving Myrine's comfortable lap, but instead of being held by someone else, he found himself floating in the air. Terrified, he thought he might have been thrown or accidentally dropped – a one-day-old baby dropping from such a height would surely result in disaster. But then, his body started maneuvering through the room, and he was suddenly held in someone's arms.

This confirmed one of Alex's suspicions – yes, this world contained magic. Nothing else could explain him flying through the room. Since this morning, he found it weird that he could see more clearly and hear from even the remotest corner of the mansion. At first, he thought it might be because of some special ability he possessed in this life, like being a Kryptonian or Saiyan, although he couldn't be certain, as he doubted that just being an elf would guarantee these things. His thoughts were influenced by the comics and animes he watched in his previous life.

Not only that, but he was also able to sense some weird energy in the atmosphere, and his perception had improved multiple times. It was as if he had become a cheat character.

"Now this confirms one thing – I am definitely the protagonist," thought Alex, "well, or maybe this can be a slice of life thing, or maybe I am thinking too much."

As Alex wondered and imagined himself in various scenarios, his curiosity was piqued by another concept when he was held by someone after floating through the room. It was evident that this world's power system involved some kind of weird energy that enabled people to become powerful. But then, he wondered about the specifics of this world – was it a cultivation world with spiritual qi and foundation and immortal realms? Or was it a knights and mage world? Alternatively, was it some entirely different power system, like everyone receiving some quirk from birth or through an awakening ceremony? His thoughts immediately turned to Deku, and he wondered, "I mean, if I have something like One For All, it will surely come in handy."

While he mused over the potential power system, he was suddenly poked on his chubby cheeks by a nose. Turning to look, he found a familiar face poking her nose against his cheeks with an ecstatic expression. She had similar silver hair, ethereal beauty, and elongated long elven ears pointed upward, but Alex knew she was not his mother, although there was an impeccable similarity in their faces. Yes, she had slightly larger eyelashes, and there was a beautiful crown adorned with flowers and a single shining silver gem, resembling a diamond, embedded in the middle of the crown. Even without seeing the differences, Alex could tell with his heightened perception that this touch did not belong to his mother.

As Alex stared at the beautiful woman holding him, his heart raced with both excitement and curiosity. He knew this woman was not his mother, but her resemblance to Cynthia was uncanny. The crown she wore and her ethereal aura made it clear that she held a high position, perhaps even royalty.

"Hello, little one," the woman said in a melodious voice that was both soothing and commanding.

"You must be Alex, oh look how cute you are!!. I am Seraphina Moonshade, your grandmother."

Alex's eyes widened in surprise. So, this elegant woman was his grandmother, the mother of his mother. He couldn't help but be in awe of her presence.

As Seraphina gently caressed his cheeks, Alex felt a surge of warmth and love. There was a sense of familiarity in her touch, as if she had known him all along. He couldn't explain it, but he felt a connection to her, just like he did with Cynthia and his sisters.

"You have your mother's eyes," Seraphina said with a soft smile, her fingers tracing the outline of his eyes. "And I see a hint of mischief in them too, just like your father."

Alex blinked at her words, feeling a mix of surprise and curiosity. Father? He hasn't seen his father and couldn't help but wonder how he looked to get such a beautiful wife as Cynthia. Apparently he was in capital with some work so he was not present at the time of his birth.

As if sensing his inner turmoil, Lady Seraphina chuckled softly. "Don't worry, little one. Everything will become clear to you in due time. For now, just know that you are loved by all of us, and we are overjoyed to have you in our family."

Her soothing words eased Alex's unease, and he found himself smiling back at her. He may not fully understand the intricacies of this world or his place in it, but he felt a sense of belonging with the Winterhaven family.

As Seraphina continued to shower him with love and affection, Alex couldn't help but be grateful for this new chance at life. He may have been a soul transmigrated from another world, but in this world, as Alex Von Winterhaven, he had a loving family that cared for him deeply.

Throughout the day, Alex's mind occasionally drifted back to his previous life as Harris. The regrets and vengeful nature that once consumed him felt like a distant memory now. In this new beginning, surrounded by love and happiness, Alex was determined to protect his family and prevent the same mistakes from repeating.
