Thomas had just arrived at the NASA headquarters. He had brought with him the file containing all the information he needed for the Nexusgate project; however, as he was checking the files, he realized that he had left the file of VR25 in his car, which was parked near his old lab. He knew that he couldn't afford to lose the file, as it contained the blueprint of the VR25.
Thomas: "Oh no, I left the file in the car. I need to get it back."
He turned to his assistant.
Thomas: "Can you come with me? We need to go back to the old lab and get the file. It's in the glove compartment of my car."
Assistant: "Sure, no problem. But how are we going to get there? The old lab is almost completely destroyed. It's not safe to go there."
Thomas: "Don't worry, we'll take one of the helicopters. It'll be faster and safer than driving."
Assistant: "OK, let's go then. But hurry up, we don't have much time."
The two of them quickly made their way to the helipad, where they boarded one of the available helicopters. Thomas instructed the pilot to take them to the old lab, which was located a few miles away from the headquarters. As they flew over the city, Thomas looked down and saw the devastation caused by the explosion of his VR25 and the attack by the AK07. The lab was reduced to rubble, and smoke was still rising from the site.
Thomas: "Look at that."
Assistant: "I still can't believe that we survived it"
Thomas: "It was terrifying."
Assistant: "Yeah."
The helicopter soon reached the old lab, where Thomas and his assistant got off and ran towards his car. They found it parked near the entrance of the lab, covered in dust and debris.
Thomas: "There it is. Come on, let's get the file and get out of here."
They opened the car door and searched for the file in the glove compartment.
Assistant: "I found it! Here it is!"
Thomas saw the portal glowing brighter than before. He turned to his assistant and asked, "Do you see that? The portal is glowing brighter."
His assistant looked at the portal and shook his head. "No, I don't see any difference."
Thomas didn't want to leave it at that. He ran to his car trunk and took out a radiation scanner. He ran back towards the portal, through the broken pieces of his building. As he turned on the radiation scanner and measured the radiation carefully, he was shocked to see that the radiation was accelerating 7 times larger than before.
He turned to his assistant, "The radiation is accelerating 7 times larger than before. AK07 must have done something to accelerate the portal's growth."
Thomas calculated in his head and found out that they had only 3 days before the portal fully opened. He ran to the headquarters to inform them of this development.
As he arrived at the headquarters, Thomas burst into the room, out of breath. "We have a problem," he said, "The radiation from the portal is accelerating 7 times larger than before. We only have 3 days before it fully opens."
Everyone in the room turned to look at him, shocked by this news.
"What do we do?" one of them asked.
Thomas replied, "Activate PLAN B!"
