Chapter 2 - mystery

The carriage drove through the darkness of the night. In a few moments, he had reached a police station that was significant in size. The carriage driver opened the door. "Enjoy your stay, "the driver said. Elijah gave a dry chuckle and then nodded to the driver. Two men in uniform came over.

"I am Officer Eugene." Eugene had short hair and looked in his mid-forties; he had blue eyes and a medium-built frame. "I am Officer Alexander." he had tall brown hair, his eyes were brown, and he looked to be in his early twenties. "Follow us," the two officers announced.

Elijah was reluctant at first, but he agreed to it. The three of them walked into the police station. Elijah saw a Woman at the front desk; she seemed to be writing a report. She had tall, straight black hair with bangs, she wore glasses, she had a beautiful pair of blue eyes, and her lips were cherry red.

She looked up from the paperwork and then asked seductively," What brings you boys here at this hour?" Elijah looked to Eugene. Eugene cleared his throat, reached for his pocket, and then took out a badge connected to a chain shaped like a raven.

She got up from her seat, and the three followed her. She led them to a wall in the janitor's closet and then placed the badge on the wall; it glowed a blue color, and the walls opened up. Elijah looked in amazement.

"Where does this lead?" Elijah asked. The two men looked at each other with questioning looks. "That's.." the two men wanted to answer, but the lady stopped them. "You shouldn't worry about this as of now," she said; the three of them went through the door, the lights around them morphed, the reds got redder, the blues got bluer, and the greens became a dull color.

The three walked out of a portal, and the lights seemed to have increased. It was like looking at the sun. "Why is it so bright?!" Elijah said the officers didn't answer, his eyes felt like they were being melted, and sweat poured like a waterfall; Elijah fell to the floor. His body felt as though he were about to dissolve, the feeling stopped, however,"....T-the h-hell was that?!" Elijah used his strength to speak, but the words barely came out.

------

Elijah's eyes fluttered open. He was in a small room that looked to be an integration room. "Why the hell am I h-" Before he could finish the sentence, his body stiffened up. (The hell?!) he thought. He tried to speak, but nothing could get out. The door opened, a tall woman walked in.

She had amber eyes, her hair was a brunette color, she wore a dark blue suit, her skirt reached her knees, and her skin was a soft beige. "Can I ask something?" Elijah said the woman walked over to a seat and then nodded.

"Why exactly am I here?" the woman stared deeply into Elijah's eyes and then smiled, her eyes glowed a faint purple hue, "What relationship do you have with Doctor Marcus?" Elijah's body went stiff. His head felt as if someone had cut through his head, his memories, to be exact, the memory of Marcus.

Marcus was an old childhood friend of his. They grew up next to each other. After Elijah was disowned by his father, he and Marcus moved to Aurelia, the city of gold. After that, the two got into a university together. They even rented out an apartment, but that didn't last long; after a few months, he went missing. "he was a friend of mine; we went to the same university.

I haven't seen him in months." Elijah could not stop speaking even though he did not know the man. "When he went 'missing,' did he ever contact you?" she asked; Elijah's head felt as though someone was stabbing him with a thousand knives.

Elijah screamed, blood flowing from his nose. "What do you want from me?" His voice was shaky. He tasted a metal sense in his mouth, and a stream of blood came flowing out. "I suggest telling the truth, or else this will hurt way worse," she said (this woman…she's the devil). Elijah thought; she continued asking questions. "Do you know of the demon sect?" she asked.

Elijah's body felt like it was in an iron maiden being torched by the devil himself. "As I've always said, I don't know anything about a demon sect, the ravens; I've never heard of them. now, could you please just let me go?" Elijah exclaimed. He could barely speak. He just wanted to sleep. "I can't let you die yet. I need answers from you," she said; she had a wide grin on her face.

The door opened up a tall man with black hair walked in; he had a pair of ember eyes, and his frame was of an old man in his thirties. "What the hell do you think you're doing? I never gave you the orders, Victoria, do this type of crap again and -" Before he could finish, Victoria got up from her seat and then went to the door.

"Bruce, this man has traces of you know what all over him…i don't think he is even normal I think he might be working with them...i think he might be one of their lap dogs." Bruce looked over to Elijah, ignored Victoria, then walked over to the chair and sat himself down. "if he is a part of that group, then he should be fine. Continue to ask him questions i will do what i can to keep his mind from breaking apart".

Victoria went to the desk; her fingers ignited in a small flame. She went behind Elijah and then dug her finger into the back of his neck. The searing pain made him burst out screaming; she slowly removed her hand. Elijah started crying, "Really, I don't know anything." his mind started to blank out; instead of feeling like nails were being planted into his head, it felt as though a chainsaw was cutting through him down the middle.

He felt as though his mind was normal again. This feeling continued over and over. "Make it stop," his voice could barely be heard, and his vision blurred. He could see a man on a high back chair, wearing a black windbreaker under which he wore a black suit in his left hand.

He held a black cane that was inlead with gold. It also had mysterious symbols that Elijah could not identify, "who…who are you?" Elijah asked the man on the high back chair. He stared at him and then smiled.

"I see... They think you with them….truly amusing," the man said; he slowly looked up, his eyes brightened. "You…you might be a great candidate, even better than the others. "The man lifted his gold inlead cane. The mysterious symbols glowed a gray color.

The man swung the cane down, but nothing happened "i hope you have the best of luck…you'll need it." The man started to laugh, but it stopped as Elijah's mind returned to the searing pain. He screamed like he never could; his throat felt like it was about to explode, and his hands were tied together, but that didn't stop him from clawing at his own hands; by now, his hands were just flesh and bone. The skin was gone.

Bruce got up from his seat. "his mind is far gone. He's brain dead." Bruce left the room, Victoria got up simultaneously, and two guards entered. She placed a hand on Elijah's head, and her hands glowed a faint red. Elijah's face started to burn off all that was left was a skull.

"Dispose of the body. "The guards got the body, they walked out the back, but one thing was wrong. Elijah was still alive (make it stop..). He repeated that over and over. The guards couldn't hear anything. The guards dropped him in an alleyway, and motor vehicles drove by, followed by groups of horse-driven carriages. This scene lasted in Elijah's head for days on end. His mind would not die.

"K-kill M-me "

"Make the pain stop, please"

"Stop!"

The world went blank. Elijah's eyes slowly fluttered awake. He saw the same ceiling as he did before he got up off the bed. He slowly looked around the room." was that all a dream?" he asked himself. He looked at one of the bookshelves with the same name, "The Ten Gods of Solara." he dropped the book and then backed up to the desk. He looked around to see the blood-red moon it was like it was looking deep into his heart "Ahahahah….why the hell am i here!?" Elijah yelled out.

He heard a knock at the door "dammit, it's that creature" Elijah looked to the window and realized he was just on the second floor. "Wait, last time the stairs were so long…was that an illusion?" Elijah shook his head. (That doesn't matter ) he jumped on the chair then opened the window, and then jumped out.
