Logan opened his mouth, ready to speak, but then paused as a memory surfaced, his eyes flickering with realization.
"We might get some answers sooner than we thought," he said slowly.
Veronika raised an eyebrow, her expression unreadable, but there was something sharp in her gaze, like she was waiting for him to reveal more.
He rose from the bed, crossed the room in a few quick strides, and reached for the pocket watch resting on the nightstand. His fingers grazed the cool metal as he picked it up, holding it in the dim light.
"I just remembered… I trapped someone in here," Logan said, his voice uncertain. "But I'm not sure if they're still alive."
Veronika's eyes narrowed as she studied the watch, her lips pressing into a thin line. There was a flicker of concern that she tried to hide.
"If they're dead," she said, her voice low and measured, "we could still channel their spirit. Speak with them."
