Hector was taken aback for a moment. He gathered his thoughts before responding, avoiding eye contact with Logan.
"No…" he said calmly.
Logan chuckled, wincing in pain.
"I'm not going to take away your freedom with this contract."
"Freedom isn't the issue."
"Then what is?"
Hector sighed. "Even though you've explained yourself, part of me still doesn't trust you. That part is why I've survived this long."
Logan gave a faint smile.
"And has that feeling served you well? Is it why you were betrayed? Why you're in this mess? Your feelings haven't gotten you far, Hector. Maybe it's time to start using your head."
Logan sighed, his expression calm despite the blood running down his arm. His face was slick with sweat and smeared with dried blood.
