"Don't you agree with me, huh?" The man's question jolted her out of her thoughts.
She stuttered, "Yes, I... do," her response carried a hint of hesitation, she wasn't entirely satisfied with his point. If there was one thing she had given up on, it was the idea of love. How could she genuinely affirm her accord with him?
"Thank you for lending an ear. Derrick's the name," he introduced himself, offering his hand for a shake, which she reciprocated with a friendly smile.
"I am Aurora. Pleasure's mine," she replied, both of them exchanging smiles.
"Did you come here with friends? You don't look like someone who attends this sort of event, " he remarked, his gaze curious as it settled upon her.
"Um, I arrived with my brother," she lied. She had arrived with Damien, her Alpha, but labeling him a friend due to their contractual relationship felt unreasonable. Furthermore, establishing familiarity with Damien wouldn't help her well.
