"Stay silent until I permit you to speak," he commanded, his back turned to her. The anger emanating from him was palpable from where she stood.
All she wanted was to make things easier for him. Couldn't he see the positive intention behind her actions?
"I merely wanted to lessen your burden," she retorted, standing firm in her words. Why did she have to be silent until he deemed it appropriate?
"What burden?" He bellowed at her, causing her to flinch in terror. He turned to face her, his eyes emitting a golden hue that signified his disapproval of her actions.
She felt frightened, she had never seen him in such a state. She grew scared and started moving backward, she had never been so harshly scolded by him.
"I... She wouldn't want to see another woman with her man. I didn't want to be the obstacle between you two," she confessed, avoiding eye contact out of fear.
