Frowning, Dave asked, "What do you mean?"
Beta Madrid smiled and folded his hands in front of him, saying, "Though you might be the brother of the Alpha respected by Alpha Nureo, the fact remains that you were the man that caused Lady Charlotte pain." Those words struck a chord in Dave and it felt like his ear wasn't working for a moment.
The more he was being reminded of what he did in the past, the more guilt ate him up.
"I…What can I do to correct that?" He asked, ashamed of himself.
"I believe that's something you should be able to figure out yourself if you are truly here for her," Madrid answered.
"But…" Interrupting him, Madrid said, "Of course, if you need help with arranging anything, I would put some guards under your command for as long as you are here."
