Chapter 24 - Little argument before work

Edward's POV:

I pressed my lips against hers for a brief kiss and then said, "Sit down and eat breakfast."

Neha's POV:

He woke me up this morning, the jerk. He has no idea how hard it is for me to sleep with his leg and arms all over me. Just as I finally started to get some deep sleep, he interrupted it. Ugh, I wish I could have slept longer.

Feeling a bit irritated and with a headache from lack of sleep, I got up. I glanced at the clothes on the couch: a navy blue skirt, a white shirt, and a pair of beautiful white boots with heels. They looked really pretty. I picked them up and went to the bathroom.

I went through my morning routine, taking a quick shower but skipping washing my hair—it would take too long to dry. I just washed my body quickly, changed into the clothes, left my hair loose, and applied peach lipstick. No other makeup today.

When I came downstairs, I saw Edward setting the table. He looked so cute and handsome that I had to slap my face lightly to shake off these ridiculous thoughts. I don't love him, I keep telling myself. I don't.

I tried to make myself comfortable, but he suddenly kissed me lightly. It was sweet, but he pulled away too soon. What is wrong with me? Why do I want more? I might really be losing it.

I sat at the dining table and started eating breakfast. He had made pancakes and mango milkshake. How did he know I love these? It must be a coincidence.

The pancakes were delicious, but I would never admit it to him. I didn't know he could cook. I had thought he was just a spoiled brat.

After breakfast, he asked, "How was it?"

I replied with a touch of sarcasm, "Hmm, what?"

He sighed and said, "My cooking, honey. My cooking."

I didn't respond, so he continued, "From now on, I'll make breakfast, and you'll make dinner. You'll wash up after breakfast, and I'll handle the dishes after dinner. We'll eat lunch outside since we're both at the office then. On weekends, we'll visit my parents. Don't worry about cleaning the house; a maid will handle that and our laundry Too"

I replied, "Then why don't you just hire a maid for cooking too?"

He answered, "I don't like maid-cooked food. I prefer yours. I don't want to burden you, so you'll only need to make dinner. If you don't feel like cooking, we can eat out."

I didn't say anything further. Fine, if he likes my cooking so much, maybe someday I'll make him something special. He suggested, "Let's go."

Before we left, he added, "Your car isn't here. From now on, we'll go to work together."

I asked, shocked, "What about my car? Where is it?"

"It's parked in the garage. As husband and wife, we should go together," he said.

I insisted, "I don't want to go with you."

"I'm not asking, honey. I'm telling you. We're going together, and I don't want to hear any arguments," he said sweetly.

I retorted angrily, "I'm not your servant. I have my own opinions. You can't just order me around."

"Neha," he said, raising his voice slightly, "if you say one more word, I'll kiss you right now."

He grabbed my hand and pulled me toward his car.
