Amalia hurried to help Noah as both of the bandits scrambled at him.
Rex bypassed Scott as he also followed, leaving his fight with Scott on hold.
"Don't leave your spot idiots, fight the mage" shouted Scott but the bandits did not flinch nor care. All they did was steer to the boy who was baffled by their hasty approach.
Dan ran up to Noah and kicked him in the stomach with full force. The kick was so hard that it caused Noah to cough up a little blood from his mouth.
Noah struggled to get up but before he realized another bandit was before him, hand stretched out and going for his head.
Noah was frozen solid by the sheer quickness of that guy. he was fast, faster than the women he had just slain. He felt like his entire body had been paralyzed, only his eyes kept up with the bandit's movements.
The bandit was in the air while his blade headed to slit Noah's throat just when a fireball crashed on them sending both of them flying like a ragged doll.
Dust began settling as Noah flared open his eyes, all he heard was a loud beep noise and saw a shady figure trying to wake him up.
He coughed the dust as his senses began getting back to him.
She was Amalia, her complexion was of concern and her soft hands kept touching his face, Soon he realized his head was in her lap.
"Is the kid ok?" asked Rex, hunkering down to see if he was breathing, he felt a warm breath on his finger in response. "Ha! He's a tough one"
Amalia ignored him. Noah smiled at them, catching a glimpse of his furry clothes that were almost burned by Amalia's spell.
"I am sorry, I had to use it to protect you," she said softly.
"You sure, are not trying to kill him" Rex laughed but quieted down, by her glare. "kidding"
"I knew, it would not harm him as much as to him" She lets out, brushing her hand on the necklace. "Glad, you are not dead"
"glad your plan worked" Noah whispered as they got to their feet.
Amalia used her spell the moment she felt Noah was in danger and the reason why she used such a deadly spell was due to her faith in the Necklace. She was quite sure that the amulet will protect him and will work as his shield.
Even though she had made an effort to aim at the bandit's tail so Naoh would be a little safer and would not get a lot of damage like the bandit.
The bandit lay unmoved, a trail of smoke lifted from his burned body. It was a blunt collision, unlike Noah who was caught in the eruption of the fireball.
Dan took a woman in his arms as tears began falling, he did not care what had happened to his other friend.
Scott scowled at him.
"I told you to stay where you are, but you fuckers don't listen do you?"
"He will pay for this" Dan slowly put her head down as he clinched his blade. He appears as if a madman after his enemy's blood.
Noah's vision was spinning and was slightly unclear as if his health points had dropped down drastically but there was no health bar like in the game to see exactly how much damage he got, all he got was his feelings to know where he stood and how much longer.
Amalia gulped hard, she had nearly used everything on her last shot, and now she had run out of mana. Sweat trickled down from her fair face as she looked at the fuming bandit.
"Rex, you have to protect Noah" She whispered.
Rex nodded. "Don't worry, I will not let that bastard come near him"
Scott reckoned from Amalia's hesitation that she had run out of all options and now she was a harmless kitten in front of them. He nudged Dan and whispered something in his ear pointing his weapon at them.
Noah blinked hard, then he summoned some kind of herb from his inventory. He discreetly pushed into her hands.
Amalia gave him a bewildered look.
"It's to recover your mana, it's not that effective but it's better than nothing" Noah gossiped, stepping forward.
Dan advanced angrily, his moments became more hasty and unpredictable unlike before as if he had lost his self-consciousness completely.
Rex met him midway and stopped his advance toward Noah. Scott hopped in as the duo tried to overwhelm the Rex who was the strongest and most capable fighter among them.
Their intentions were clear before anything they must take down the last defense of their enemies. The boy was no threat to them and Mage seemed to run out of her mana.
Their blades clashed violently, as Rex fought on two fronts.
Amalia and Noah both knew their companions would not be able to hold much longer unless they did something about it.
"You take rest and focus on recovery while I help him as much as I can" Noah spoke but Amalia pulled him back from entering into the fight.
"you cannot keep up with them. Stay here"
"And let him die? We can't lose him, Amalia. We have to do something, anything to survive" Noah pointed making Amalia fall silent.
"I know, I am not on their level but at least I can distract them while you conjure everything" He flashed his blade, with a smile. "I am not that weak"
She nodded.
Noah ran forward, as he tried to find a better way into the fight. It was apparent he needed to step in but if he instantly went to face any of them one-on-one he knew he would surely die in seconds.
They were in a different league than him. If he were to go against them there is not even a twenty percent chance he could win, not even close.
This time he did not have his Shadow skill as he had used it against the level seven women, the same women who were beating him mercilessly.
His feet skidded as he stopped. "bad idea, I cannot possibly go in"
He then looked around to see if he could use anything against them while at the same time staying out of their range.
He smirked, grabbing stones from the ground. "I am going to fight dirty"
Rex parried Dan's blow but just when he was about to strike Scott ducked and slashed his stomach. The wound was not deep but what intimidated Rex was Scott.
The wound on Scott's chest was recuperating before his eyes in the middle of their battle. The bleeding had already stopped but now his wound was also about to heal. How was that possible?
Rex took a step back unsure of what to do. The only thing he thought, was no matter how much he hurt Scott he would heal himself with the help of the sword.
"Now you realize how deadly I am, my dear Rex-"
Scott was interrupted by a sudden strike. He put his sword in front of his face to block a random rock. The red sword shook at the impact of the rock.
"Will you also heal if Rex happens to disarm you?" Noah implied playing with a stone in his hand.
Scott's face turned ugly.
"I see, so that's what I have to do" Rex smirked, he then smashed the ground, and a wave of ice flew all around him.
It wasn't strong enough to harm them but more than enough to cloud their visions. Scott jumped away but Rex was already near him aiming to take him down.
Rex's axe clashed with Dan's as he managed to avert the blow's trajectory toward the ground. Rex gritted his teeth in response expecting Scott's attack but to his surprise, Scott maneuvered behind him and dashed at Noah.
"I need to take you down first" He shouted along the way.
Noah's blade snapped in two as he obstructed the red blade. He watched the piece of the blade fall on the ground making a clanging noise.
"Get out of the way, Noah" Shouted Amalia as a Fire Breath slammed against Scott's transparent defense barrier.
Noah jumped sideways and elbowed his way out of the scene.
Scott pushed his right hand forward, trying his best to maintain the barrier as signs of his melting barrier were quite noticeable.
"Shit! This is dangerous" He mumbled.
He got scared by the fact, that she had already recovered.
