After unwinding his limbs, David steps on the barren dirt road before stopping.
"Jim didn't tell me where the stable was." He muttered. "Oh well."
He looks around the town. At the sides of the saloon were two rows of buildings. He spot an old man sitting down to his right and started walking up to him. "Hey, Oldtimer. You know where the stable is?"
"Hmm? Yeah. It's right behind this building by a couple of paces."
"Thanks"
"No problem."
David followed the old man's direction. In the distance, he could see a wooden building with two huge barn doors.
When he arrived, he knocks.
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK
After waiting a couple of seconds the barn door opened. "What y'all want?" An annoyed voice sounded as a short man covered with white facial hair came out.
"I'm in the market of buying a horse."
"I see. Well, you're in luck. I've just received a large variety of horses. You'll definitely find the one for you. Follow me."
Entering the barn, there were horses on both sides. David looks around, shaking his head at a donkey. "I need a fast horse.
"I got one of them bred horses. Down there to the right." He said.
David walks down and sees a pearly white horse with spots of gray running down its body.
"How much?" David asked immediately.
"$500"
David whistles.
He reaches to a pouch on his side, taking out a way of cash. "$400 for horse and $100 for the basic necessities."
"Deal." Man quickly accepts as he grabs the bills.
"Pleasure," David said as he walks towards the gate of the horse. He opens it and slowly and gently grabs its lead. He leads it out and the short man threw a brown saddle on top of it.
"Gender?" David asked.
"Girl."
He eyes the horse before noticing a brush in a saddlebag. He grabs it before brushing the horse's hair, humming as he works. After a while, David stops and mutters.
"What should I name you?" He thinks for a bit.
"Pearl. Cause your white like one."
Pearl neighs in reply, bringing a smile to his face. He grabs a hold of the lead again and brings her outside.
He patted her before mounting. "Alright girl. Let's go for a test ride!" He said, gently yanking the lead. Pearl sprinted forward as a huge gush of wind came. David smiles as he holds his hat, yanking it again.
"Yeehaw!!!"
