Chapter 79
(The Slaves, Pt 2 of 11)
Hannah Pov:
The second I yelled, all the guards saw us and came over talking. Sure it was disgusting and wrong, but that wasn't why I had yelled. I had seen something that Jake had not yet seen. Layla, chained to the wall, in rags, cut, bruised, and more. I can't stand a friend being hurt like that.
I couldn't think due to what I had saw and my crying, but one thing broke through in a whisper. "I, Won't, Let, You, Off, Lightly!," Jake had whispered. I looked forward as I felt bloodlust, not angled at me or Layla, but the criminals, I think. I don't know what they are, but this is dangerous.
Looking at Jake I see black aura, but that shouldn't be possible. Aura, it is the color of someone's current Mana. It is only shown when someone is experiencing an Extremely sad emotion, or the thrill of a fight. But this was not the latter of the two, this was the first. I knew this, because I felt the same, but I was only seven still.
Jake walked towards the Criminals who did not back down, not even after feeling his bloodlust. But the second they got within striking distance of him, they fell. In a split second that they had gone within that, he had cut off their arms, legs, and head. This had caused me, and all the hundreds of people in cages, except the unconscious Layla, to scream our lungs out.
Sure the criminals were thrown off, but Jake did not waver one bit. He continued to walk forward, killing anyone who got to close. "What is going on here Hannah?," Someone asked from behind. I looked to see Henry, Theo, Aaron, Hunter, Emma, and their maids and Butlers with faces of Horror.
I got up and ran into my maid, Ellison, because I couldn't stand it. She comforted me as everyone else looked away as we heard it. The splatter of blood, limbs falling, screams of those dying, and those in fear. Just how many monsters did he kill to achieve that level of fighting.
"Hunter, why is his Mana Brown?," An afraid Emma asked. That wasn't right, it was black last time I looked, so I looked again. The floor is covered in blood, limbs, body's, and indeed he has Brown Mana. Did he level it up from massacring these people who held people hostage?! But it hasn't even been half a day since he was baptized.
He gets to the last one, and instead of killing him, he tosses him over to us. Hunter grabs him and ties him up as we look on, at Jake. He is in front of Layla, he takes the chains in his hands, and rips them apart like paper! What in the world is he even?!
He lifts her up and walks back as a green light envelopes him. "Theo, Aaron, go back with your maids to the capital. Tell your father about this, I am going to get everyone else out. Hunter, keep that man chained up so we can find out who sent them. Emma, if you can, take Layla up and put her in a room if you can find one. Theo and Aaron, you can take the carriage," Jake says as he turns around.
He goes to the nearest cage at which all the people inside back up. Looking closer, there are all types of Beast-kin and people. He grabs the lock as the man that Hunter chained up yells, "It is impossible to break that! You need to know the combination to op—!" He doesn't finish as Jake just crushes it, breaking the spell. What on earth is he even?!
Theo and Aaron run up to the carriage with their maids and head to the capital. I help Emma lift the unconscious Layla and start to head up when we hear something, "Wait!" Looking back, it is Layla's maid Amanda. "Let me come with you," She says.
Looking closer, her maid outfit has been destroyed, she only has the smallest of rags covering her. She really needs a change of clothes, I hope Halfdan has some. She follows as I take Layla up with Emma, but as we do, I notice something. It was the same thing Emma had, but only legendary beasts have that. What on earth is Amanda?
We get to the top and Exit into the garage. Emma leads the way to the collapsed entrance, but when we get there, it's gone. It seems that Hunter had completely obliterated it to get in. Emma calls Halfdan over as we enter the main door of the mansion.
Inside you had an open space with stairs on each side. The room we were in had a ceiling on the second floor. The staircases started facing us going towards the wall for a third of the height, before turning and going up the rest. From there you had a balcony from the second floor looking down on us.
There was also a hallway at the end of the room, and a door into a dining room. One of the staircases had their steps badly damaged, the other had debris stopping us. That meant we had to find a room on the first floor then.
We traveled around, Ellison joining us, until we finally found a room. We had gone around the entire mansion and back to the first hallway. We had gone around the one side due to it being blocked by debris. It was the meeting room, it wasn't the best, but it would do.
We put Layla down on the table, her wounds were healed by Jake surprisingly, but her blood wasn't restored. I had Ellison go and get Halfdan, after she gave us her medicine bag she brought. I used to to dress Amanda's injuries since she had run out before getting healed.
When that was Done Ellison returned with Halfdan and he gave out two pairs of clothes. Now they were a bit small as they were for Emma, but they would do. We had Halfdan leave and we got Amanda into them and then started working on Layla. Amanda was skeptical at first for some reason but when I didn't react to that she gave up. I noticed that there were no scars on Layla as well, just how powerful is Jake?!
