Chapter 1 - Prologue

It had been eleven long years since my last visit to the human kingdom. Fleeing from the relentless pursuit of the previous king's army, I embarked on a perilous journey in search of shelter, eventually crossing the borders.

As a young child, I found myself swept away in a desperate escape from the Beast kingdom of Zephyrion, joined by my faithful companions. In our innocence, we unwittingly trespassed across the borders of Zephyrion and stepped foot into the realm of Eldorium, the human kingdom. Our kingdoms had forever been locked in a bitter conflict, their animosity perpetuated by the rulers who came before in Eldorium and Zephyrion.

Yes, my survival owes much to that extraordinary girl who defied convention and saved me, despite my bestial form. I often find myself wondering where she resides now.

"Lost in thoughts of her again, Your Majesty?" Stalworth, my ever-attentive companion, observed.

"You know me all too well, Stalworth. Had she not extended her sanctuary to us that fateful night, our lives would have surely met their end," I responded, my voice infused with heartfelt gratitude.

Why is it that her memory forever elicits a smile? It has been over a decade, yet her gentle countenance, her fragrance, her every aspect of kindness and beauty remain etched in my mind.

I regret never discovering her name. Fear and doubt towards humans prevented us from revealing or inquiring about personal details. Considering our age at the time, I presume she has long since found solace in a loving marriage.

"Stalworth, I can only hope that she enjoys a peaceful existence within the embrace of a loving family," I shared my solemn wish.

Does she now bear children of her own? With each passing day, I draw closer to fulfilling the promise I made to her. I am resolute in my mission to bring about harmonious coexistence between our beastly kind and the humans. Together, we shall cease this protracted war and usher in an era of tranquility.

Today holds paramount significance, as I must negotiate an alliance with Eldorium, the human kingdom. Our kind bears a striking resemblance to humans; however, our distinguishing features—ears and tails—serve as a constant reminder of our distinctiveness. Moreover, we possess far greater strength and stature than the average human. Nevertheless, beyond these physical disparities, our essence remains fundamentally alike.

Indeed, coexistence is possible; the cessation of hostilities is within reach. Fear not, dear Miss, for I, Sorcarius Goldenhart, shall endeavor tirelessly to forge a better world—a world where our paths shall cross once more.
