During his university days, Alexander had discreetly kept a French bulldog in his dormitory. These dogs were undeniably adorable, despite their small stature. They were known for their simplicity, courage, and unwavering loyalty. Alexander had even struck clandestine deals with his dormitory supervisor to keep the little dog. Unfortunately, due to work commitments after graduation, he had to entrust the pup to a friend. Nonetheless, he visited the little fellow regularly, and to his amazement, the dog always recognized Alexander as its original owner, regardless of how much time had passed. This heartfelt connection always moved Alexander deeply.
So, when Alexander thought about pets now, his mind naturally gravitated towards dogs.
However, Alexander couldn't simply sketch an innocent puppy. He was, after all, in the Abyss of the Demon World, a realm with a vastly different aesthetic sense. A cute little French bulldog would be extremely vulnerable here, and only a fierce appearance would deter potential bullies. Alexander wanted a companion, but he didn't want it to be in danger shortly after coming into existence.
Thus, the dog that Alexander drew was a fearsome three-headed hellhound!
In Greek mythology, Cerberus, the hellhound, guarded the entrance to the underworld for Hades. Alexander didn't know if similar creatures existed in the Abyss, but that didn't deter him from giving it this name.
Logically, using a soul fragment like Gabriel's to create a holy creature would have been ideal, but that would have posed the same problem as before. He was in the Abyss, and a holy creature would stand out conspicuously, attracting the attention of all the demons. Therefore, Alexander chose to create something like a hellhound, despite the mismatched attributes.
The hellhound he drew had robust limbs and razor-sharp claws. Its skin resembled obsidian, enhancing its defense, and it even boasted a viper head at the end of its tail. The three heads resembled wolves more than dogs, with menacing fangs in their mouths.
Creating a creature involved more than just drawing; it required 3D modeling and synthesizing various basic motions and gestures, such as running, walking, and biting. It was a complex process, and Alexander diligently worked on it for a full week in his nest until all the materials were ready.
He meticulously defined the attributes and characteristics of this three-headed hellhound: loyalty, fierceness, obedience, curiosity, passion, and intelligence. It essentially had the same personality as the French bulldog he had once raised. Alexander set its height to about 130 to 140 centimeters, akin to a small calf, and left its weight, strength, and speed for the system to optimize. However, he insisted on giving all three heads the same skill—Breath!
Each head possessed the ability to release breath attacks, albeit with individual variations. From left to right, they had Fire Breath, Frost Breath, and Venom Breath. This way, all three heads could assist Alexander in combat in the future.
Additionally, since Alexander had demon wings and could fly, he worried about the hellhound keeping up with him. To address this concern, he equipped the hellhound with a pair of demon wings and the Flight attribute.
He even added one more attribute: Can Grow!
This attribute was included to prevent the system from restricting the creature's future potential. After contemplating the multiple attributes, Alexander couldn't help but feel conflicted. He wasn't certain if the holy soul fragment he possessed would be sufficient to create this hellhound. The creature seemed exceptionally powerful, and the soul fragment might have come from Archangel Gabriel, but it was only a small fragment. The fragment's true value lay in its quality, not its soul power.
But Alexander decided to give it a try. If it couldn't materialize, he could always modify it later.
After choosing to save all the materials, the system interface changed. The drawings Alexander had made fused together into a swirling light, an occurrence that had never happened during his previous system customizations. Interestingly, for the first time, the system didn't immediately judge the completion level. Instead, a prompt appeared: "Generating customization... 1%... 2%..."
The loading process was remarkably slow, making Alexander quite anxious.
After a while, it had reached 80%, and Alexander began to wonder if it was a sign that the customization couldn't be completed. He was already contemplating modifications.
However, to Alexander's surprise, despite the sluggish pace, it finished in one go. As the swirling light within the system interface dissipated, Alexander felt a weight in his hand. He glanced down and discovered a small, black, meaty ball in the center of his palm.
Could this be... a hellhound puppy?!
