Adela's Point of View
"No, I cannot bear to shatter Wendy and Primo's connection," I persistently voiced, the denial leaving my lips as the elevator doors swung open, causing my knees to nearly weaken upon glimpsing the person waiting outside.
I swallowed hard and shut my eyes repeatedly, yet there was no change—she was still there, and I knew she heard it all.
"Greetings," Emerald nervously and awkwardly uttered upon recognizing the individual outside the elevator.
It was none other than Wendy. They had evidently left the lobby. In her eyes now, I sensed that something had changed. There was a high likelihood that she heard what I said, for it escaped my lips precisely as the elevator doors parted.
"Adela, I was seeking you in your chambers, but you weren't there, and here you are. We need to have a conversation," Wendy stated swiftly and icily, leaving me no option but to let her words sink in.
