Just as the hands of our meeting clocked into agreement, our departure smoothly followed suit. The higher echelons here are sticklers for punctuality, demanding strict adherence from all, irrespective of station.
Once, I found myself tardy, inviting swift reprimand. They remained indifferent, disregarding my lineage (which proudly boasts the Melendez name), the epitome of affluence in the Philippines.
It's a joyous quirk that the phrase "Filipino Time" holds no sway over us, for we are disciples of the clock, fearing even a minute's delay.
As of now, we're on the road to Zambales. Some of my comrades are lost in the embrace of slumber. In truth, I appear to be the lone sentinel of wakefulness.
Our team is a lean group of five, destined for this particular expedition. We are the embodiment of a well-oiled collaborative engine.
