Chapter 43 - Another Mission From Satan

Alone in his room, Danny lay on his bed and thought.

He had many things in mind.

He still needed to speak with his father about the fifty Fay, and there was the thing with the "God of Magic."

And he couldn't forget that he was still too weak.

Not even against that underling archangel could he hope to win.

Let alone fight against that guy.

The school day has already started. He hadn't gone to school yesterday, and even if he went today, he'd be late.

He rose from his bed and left his room.

Donovan and Willow weren't home today because they were busy explaining things to the fifty Fay.

There were also a large number of other kids whom Danny needed to enroll in the school, but he needed to speak with his father and register them as citizens first.

"Defend my daughter from the All Creator," Faerie requested.

What kind of joke was that?

Danny could do nothing when the sky split apart, providing a path for one archangel. How would he fight a god?!

Regarding Morgana, Faerie's daughter.

She decided that Danny's house was too small for her and created a massive hollow tree right behind Danny's house.

The hollow tree had expansion magic infused into it and was like a mansion on the inside.

She could control the tree's vines with simple spells, and it acted like a servant, maintaining the house.

Danny opened the door to his mother's room slightly and saw she was the same as always.

Looking sickly pale and even sicklier thin, sitting by a small desk, looking at old photos with a dead expression.

He didn't like seeing her like that, and the two at fault were Lilith, Marcuse's mother, and his father, Satan.

He closed the door and headed outside.

He wanted to test something before speaking with his father.

He went to the fields not far from his house, put his hands forward, took a deep breath, and opened his eyes widely.

If each time that self-proclaimed god possessed him, Danny became stronger afterward, then how powerful was his magic control now?

He focused on controlling the magical energy in his vicinity and slowly focused on manipulating the magical energy further from him.

Controlling the magical energy in the air of realms other than Faerie was thrice as hard as controlling magical energy used by others. The more effective this test was, the even more effective it would be when applied to magical energy used by other people.

He was currently controlling enough magical energy to match seventeen percent of Marcuse's magic level.

This was way more than he could control before and would amount to over half his brother's magic capacity once used on tamed magic.

But this was not enough!

He couldn't beat any of his real foes with this much magic control!

"So you want more of my power?"

He heard a voice whisper in his left ear and turned in the voice's direction.

There was nothing there.

"Just you wait. With time, you will have enough power to take vengeance on my brother."

Now, the voice came from the right side, and Danny sent the magical energy he was controlling toward the voice.

It hit nothing.

Was he finally going crazy?

The voice stopped, and he was left to wonder whether he was crazy or if this was some sort of magic.

He pulled out his phone from his pocket and dialed his father's number.

"Bastard! How surprising it is to get a call from you. Do you need help with something?"

Before Danny could make a sound, Stan's voice came from the other side of the phone.

Danny's eye twitched as he struggled to contain his anger.

"I need you to provide magical energy to fifty Fay."

Danny said.

Satan snapped his finger, and with a short chant, he did as Danny asked.

"Done. Anything else?"

His compliance seemed suspicious, but Danny couldn't complain.

"What do you know about someone who calls himself the 'God of Magic?'"

Danny asked.

He had a hunch his father knew something, and with how compliant his father was, he might as well just ask.

There was silence from the other side of the call for a short while.

"Is everything okay?"

Danny asked.

"Y-yeah. I'll tell you about him when the time is right."

Satan answered.

Something about his tone seemed different than usual.

It was like Satan was conflicted between feelings of fear and excitement.

"I need another thing. Can you give citizenship to the fifty Fay?"

Danny asked.

"Fine, but in return, I need you to do a mission alongside Marcuse."

Satan's tone had calmed down.

"Alright. Just send me the details later."

Danny sighed.

He returned home and saw Sara just finished cleaning.

"I'm back!"

He announced, but there was no response.

She must have gone to rest.

Danny's phone vibrated, and he saw he received many files from his father.

He sent the files of the middle-school-age Fays to his old principal, and the latter sent him confirmation that he would admit them.

Luckily, all the young Fay, whom Donovan and Willow put on the list, around twenty-six of the fifty Fay, were middle-school-age.

There was no need to negotiate with other schools regarding their admittance.

The other file Danny received was an announcement of a tournament in Yggdrasil Forest.

It was a tournament that would test the strength of young magic users from all the known realms.

Satan wanted Marcuse and Danny to go there because the other major contenders in the Demon King Tournament were already planning to go there, and it was a great way to amass influence.

Satan told Danny that he was not allowed to bring any of his friends for safety reasons, and Danny chose to believe him.

Yggdrasil Forest was a forest that housed magical spirits, Fay, elves, witches and wizards, Norse demons, and dwarves.

It was the largest community of magic users in the mortal realm.

Bringing too many people with him to an area outside of Satan's control would only be putting them in pointless danger.

Danny sent a message to his teachers he will see them next week.

He walked into his library and started reading and gathering information regarding Yggdrasil Forest.

He and Marcuse would need to leave the next day to arrive on time, and he needed to prepare.
