Prologue.
Life is unpredictable. I was finally convinced of that when I was reborn after death, but my identity remained with me. I don't know how it happened that I didn't lose my memory. I was only 26 when I died.
I was born and grew up in an ordinary family. I had no brothers or sisters. I always liked to read different books. I studied well, but there was always a "but". My father and mother died of some illness, when I was 18. Then they just put me on the street. No money and no roof over my head. As I learned from the lawyers who handled my case against my father's sister, my parents weren't expecting a child when they left their will. And my aunt didn't want me near her at all. At the time of her death, my parents were almost 60. So it's no wonder they weren't expecting me. I didn't resent anyone. I decided to go into business. I dropped out of school and started working as a mechanic. It was surprisingly easy for me. I worked for only a year, and then I decided to open my own mechanic shop.
My business was slowly going upward, in the end I decided to work not only in that direction. I saved up money and opened a car wash, and then a gas station. Everything was great and by the time I was 21 I was earning good money, I wasn't really rich, but I could afford a lot of things and I had some girls but I didn't really look at them as companions. It was a one-time thing, and I paid them back with money or gifts. When I was 22, representatives of an oil state corporation came to me with a proposal for cooperation. The agreement was that I was to advertise their gasoline and gas, and they would supply me with fuel at a reduced price. It was an extremely lucrative deal, so I immediately agreed. After a short time I started making a lot of money. After a while, my aunt came to me with a request, I was not a greedy person and so I gave her what she wanted. After that, she began to build a close relationship with me. I did not resist, after all a relative, I got to know their family. They were glad to see me, and so was I. Honestly, it was lonely without family, but now I had one.
I lived and rejoiced. At 25 I was already a famous young millionaire, I was written about in the newspapers and talked about on the news. They even tried to threaten me once and demand a share of the business, but I did not bend. We had a good relationship with my aunt. I helped her with everything I could. Her children went to great schools, and afterward, I gave them money to study abroad. But one day it seemed strange to me that my aunt started hinting to leave a will just in case. Only not for her, but for my little sister. I adored her and loved her with all my heart, so I did not resist, but who knew that they had decided to use and kill me in the beginning! And they also murdered my parents! They didn't have any diseases. When I turned 26, my health took a turn for the worse. I started to lose weight and didn't get out much. At first, I did not pay attention to this and thought that this was a cold or just some slight illness, and my body should fight it off. We are Russians, we go for treatment only when we are about to die. And before that I was "treated" with folk remedies, and my aunt was cooking with my sister and taking care of me. But everything became clear when I heard them talking while falling asleep.
- Mom, how much longer? I'm tired of courting this idiot and acting like an angel. You said that he would quickly die and everything will go to us. But he's still alive, can't we add more of your medicine?
- Lena, enough already. How many times do I have to tell you that you can't add more, or they'll find out through the expertise. There are only a few days left to wait, and no one will help him.
- These few days yourself take care of him, I'm tired.
From there I could not hear what they were saying, I fell asleep. But when I woke up, I called my lawyer and said I wanted to change the will. He arrived during the night, and I wrote a will stating that I was transferring all of my assets to an orphanage union that was in Europe. There is no trust in our country, because the bureaucrats will divide up the money among themselves, and the children will get 10 rubles, at best. So, after a few days, dying, I smiled at my relatives. If I had known that you were so rotten, I would not have helped them and I would have lived longer. But I guess that was my destiny, I wish I had a family. I wanted a big family, I thought I had one, but it turned out that you can't trust anyone, not even your loved ones. Greed would take its toll anyway. Well, Dimitri Alexeyev, this is the end. But I woke up a few minutes after I closed my eyes. Maybe not a few minutes, but for me it was three minutes at most. I opened my eyes and saw the smile of a beautiful woman, then I saw a middle-aged man standing next to me, and I could not say a word...aha or aha does not count...
