Chapter 90 - Selling Water Purifiers

Waldo carefully examined the materials required to create the "water purifier blueprint." After all, it wasn't a small household water purifier but rather a large-scale community water purifier. Having too many materials would be troublesome.

Fortunately, the production of the water purifier didn't require a significant amount of materials. It only needed a certain quantity of stainless steel and filters. As for other materials, the blueprint didn't specify any requirements.

Waldo purchased some materials on a trading platform and attempted to manufacture the water purifier.

[Survivor, do you want to use the water purifier blueprint?]

[Yes/No]

[Yes]

[Water Purifier]

Stainless Steel: (120/50)

Filters: (13/1)

After clicking "Start Production," Waldo successfully manufactured two water purifiers.

[Production Completed]

Two large water purifiers stood before Waldo and two others. The stainless steel casing gave them a futuristic appearance. With simple operations, Waldo plugged in the power and poured wastewater from the faucet into the purifiers. The water purifiers started running.

Drip, drip went the mechanical sound inside, and after a few minutes, the red indicator light turned green, signifying purified water that was safe to drink.

Waldo held a cup and filled it with pure and clean water. Alanna looked at the cup of purified water with some concern and said, "Waldo, can we really drink this?"

No one knew if the water purifier could truly purify wastewater. This wasn't the old world. In this post-apocalyptic world, they couldn't be certain what might happen.

Waldo licked his lips, feeling a bit parched. "We have to try. Since it's a high-value item, it shouldn't have any issues."

Then, he took a sip of the purified water, swished it around in his mouth, and swallowed it.

"How is it?" Alanna and Helen were extremely nervous, afraid that something might happen to Waldo.

Waldo nodded and smiled, saying, "It's drinkable. It doesn't have much taste, but it's suitable for daily use."

Alanna and Helen breathed a sigh of relief. With successful practical use, they could now sell the water purifiers and make money.

Waldo recorded a short video. In the video, he approached the water purifier, filled a cup with purified water, and drank it heartily. He then shared the video on a chat channel.

[Number 10086]: Water purifier can purify outdoor wastewater into drinkable purified water. You need to get it from the trading platform. (Attached video)

[Number 854235]: Wow! Is this for real? There's actually a water purifier like this?

[Number 231534]: Must be fake. How could there be a water purifier?

[Number 967645]: Well, I checked the trading platform, and it's classified as a high-value item. It should be reliable. Plus, in the video from 10086, they drank it, even showing half of their face. I think it should be fine.

[Number 866623]: Even if there are no issues with the purification, it's way too expensive! And the water purifier requires electricity. Where are we going to get that much power?

[Number 10086]: Everyone, hold on before calling it expensive. This thing is quite costly to produce. I can't just lose money and do charity work. I've tried to keep the profit margin low, and it offers excellent cost-effectiveness.

[Number 735423]: You call that cost-effectiveness? With thirty pieces of S alloy, you could buy so much food and drinking water!

Waldo frowned slightly as he looked at the price.

He didn't think there was any problem.

It's quite reasonable.

Thirty pieces of S alloy in exchange for a large water purifier means no need to purchase drinking water in the future.

It's clearly a one-time investment.

Why don't these survivors understand?

Waldo felt a bit frustrated.

[Number 983534]: Brother, don't complain. Survivors like 10086 are on a different level when it comes to cost-effectiveness. They say cost-effectiveness is the bitterness of the poor and the surprise of the wealthy. We happen to belong to the former. *Sobs*

[Number 962234]: That hit close to home, bro.

[Number 5382344]: So, are you guys buying? (Funny face)

Many survivors expressed their desire but lack of means.

[Number 346754]: I come from a small team. Buying anything is a luxury! We're barely hanging on while building underground fortresses. Not to mention a water purifier worth thirty pieces of S alloy.

[Number 853464]: Solo survivors say they still have a good amount of drinking water in their pockets, so it's not that important to take showers.

[Number 853453]: Damn! Stop talking about it. I can almost smell it through the screen.

Waldo sighed as he looked at the chat platform.

It seemed unlikely to sell a large number of water purifiers in a short period of time. But he didn't want to lower the price.

In the old world, there were always things known as the "IQ tax." For example, weight loss pills. There were always people who believed they could lose weight without any effort.

Or diamonds. With artificially controlled mining production and its association with love, they were inflated to astronomical prices.

Many people scoffed at and even mocked these things.

But these things were never meant for the ordinary people.

They only needed to gain the approval of the service-seeking crowd to make a fortune.

And that's exactly what Waldo had in mind now.

The large water purifiers were expensive and not widely accepted.

No problem.

As long as capable teams in need can afford them and place a few orders, it would be a huge profit. After all, teams capable of spending thirty pieces of S alloy for a water purifier were most likely large teams with massive water demands. As long as their leaders weren't foolish, they would eventually come to buy.

Many people in the chat channel criticized Waldo's water purifiers.

[Number 10000]: 10086, do you think we're all just cabbage to be harvested? Thirty pieces of S alloy, how dare you set such a price!

[Number 94525]: It's indeed too expensive. With thirty pieces of S alloy, I could get so much drinking water instead.

[Number 564343]: Eh? Someone bought the water purifier? Who's so awesome? If you have money to buy a water purifier, I want to cozy up to that wealthy person!!

Waldo received his first earnings, a direct trade using thirty pieces of S alloy without any other equivalent resources.

However, when he received a private message from this buyer, Waldo couldn't stop smiling.

Private chat window.

[Number 12315]: 10086, the Platinum Resource Box is pretty good, isn't it? And this water purifier is one of the items in it, right? Just you wait for me!
