Chapter 74 - Wound

The warriors of the East Star faction were full of fighting spirit, eager for action. Since the armored vehicle couldn't accommodate everyone, some of them acted as infantry and marched towards Waldo's villa in a mighty formation.

At that moment, Waldo was on the rooftop terrace with Alanna and Helen, watering and fertilizing the fruits and vegetables. Unaware of the approaching East Star group, they were engrossed in their task.

Suddenly, Helen heard the rumbling sound of an armored vehicle's engine. She stood up, rubbed her sore waist due to bending over for a long time, and looked towards the direction of East Star. Upon closer inspection, she saw a group of armed individuals approaching them, clearly coming for them.

She quickly alerted Waldo, saying, "Waldo, it seems like East Star is preparing to attack us."

Kenelm, on the armored vehicle, spotted Waldo standing up and drew his handgun. From this distance, it was enough for him to hit the target.

Bang! Bang!

"Watch out!"

Helen forcefully pushed Waldo away, and in doing so, she took the bullet herself. She clutched her abdomen and collapsed to the ground. Helen had been shot.

Kenelm's marksmanship wasn't bad. He managed to hit his target from such a distance. Waldo watched in horror as Helen took the bullet to protect him, feeling his rage building up.

He quickly picked up Helen, called out to Alanna, and hurriedly left the rooftop terrace, hunching over as they made their way back to the underground fortress. Waldo looked at Helen, who was bleeding profusely, feeling a whirlwind of emotions.

Alanna said, "Place Helen on the bed. I'll use my skills."

Waldo carefully laid Helen on the bed and solemnly said, "Alanna, it's up to you now."

Alanna nodded and activated her "Healing" skill. A white light emanated from her right hand, covering Helen's gunshot wound. Then, with a soft command, the white light intensified, emitting a stronger radiance.

The bullet inside Helen's body slowly dislodged itself. Helen let out a muffled groan. The "Healing" skill didn't grant immunity to pain, so Helen was undergoing a bullet removal surgery without anesthesia.

Alanna wiped the sweat off Helen's forehead with her left hand, expressing her concern. Though she felt distressed, she encouraged Helen, "Hold on, Helen. It will be over soon. I believe in you!"

Helen, in excruciating pain, was barely conscious, relying solely on her willpower to endure. The bullet gradually emerged from her flesh, and the injury started to heal.

Finally, there wasn't a trace of the wound left, as if it had never been there, not even a scar.

Alanna let out a long breath and wiped the sweat off her forehead. "It's done."

Upon hearing this, Helen's eyes rolled back, and she slipped into unconsciousness.

Waldo was taken aback. Alanna quickly reassured him, "No problem, just fatigue. She needs rest and recuperation. She'll wake up soon. When she does, we'll replenish her energy."

Waldo nodded.

Thank you for your hard work, Alanna.

Alanna smiled and said, "I'm the team's doctor, after all. It's my duty."

"I'll stay here with Helen. You go outside and see what those bastards from East Star are up to. Be careful in dealing with them."

As soon as Waldo heard the mention of East Star, his expression turned cold.

"I was just thinking of settling the score! These bastards almost took Helen's life. I must exact revenge."

Alanna frowned. "Don't be impulsive, okay?"

Waldo laughed it off. "Alanna, when have I ever been impulsive? Don't worry, I'll make them all regret it! They've messed with me, Waldo, and that's something they'll regret for the rest of their lives!"

With that, Waldo stood up and walked out of the underground fortress. Step by step, he made his way out of the yard, fully dressed in his combat suit. He gripped the Critical Strike Samurai Sword, its chilling gleam reflecting a dazzling light.

At this moment, Kenelm, accompanied by his gang, had parked the armored vehicle in the large open space in front of Waldo's villa, displaying their power and dominance. Many gang members whistled, looking at Waldo, who stepped out of the S-alloy fence with a leisurely pace, wearing his full-body armor resembling a superhero.

"One person? Is this a personal hero movie? And dressed like a superhero in full armor. Can this trash really withstand the impact of an armored vehicle?" The members of East Star laughed heartily.

Waldo, wrapped in his combat suit, let out a cold sneer. "Do you know that I've never been this angry before? And it's you who have made me so angry! So, tell me, how should I deal with you?"

One of the East Star gang members who hadn't sat in the armored vehicle walked out, glanced sideways at Waldo, and nervously said while trembling his legs, "Holy shit, I'm scared. I want my mommy!"

"Hahaha, 10086, seems like you haven't realized the situation, huh? You dare to boldly say that you'll deal with us? We'll leave you a complete corpse later, and you should be grateful to us for that!"

Waldo slowly raised the Critical Strike Samurai Sword, speaking to himself. "Dissection? Not a bad idea."

Before his words could finish, Waldo suddenly shot out like a cannonball, rushing towards the gang member. The powerful force in his legs allowed him to burst out at a speed beyond the perception of the East Star members.

Silently, with a loud thud, the head fell to the ground.

Waldo held the still clean and bloodless Critical Strike Samurai Sword, kicking the gang member's head onto the armored vehicle, and casually said, "It just occurred to me that you were shamelessly bragging. You illiterate fool, I hope you read books in your next life."

Kenelm, looking at the bloody head on the armored vehicle's window, trembled all over. The seasoned leader of East Star, of course, wasn't terrified by a severed head. He was trembling with anger.

"You really underestimated 10086! In such a situation, he even dared to kill his underling in front of him. What a slap in the face!"

Kenelm shouted angrily from inside the armored vehicle, "Attack! Use your weapons, take him down!"

Upon hearing the command, the East Star gang members recovered from their initial shock and raised their guns, firing continuously.

Ding! Ding!

Waldo could even hear a tune playing on his combat suit. Along with his suit, the bullets fired by the East Star gang members kept producing sounds.

Although the bullets couldn't penetrate the S-alloy combat suit, they tried their best to make noise on Waldo's armor to prove their efforts.

Waldo strolled leisurely, slowly approaching the East Star gang members outside the armored vehicle, raising the Critical Strike Samurai Sword high above his head.

With a sweeping arc, one East Star gang member looked at his arm on the ground, spurting blood, and wailed in pain.

"Noisy," Waldo said calmly, as he thrust the sword straight down.

The East Star gang member who had been wailing with his severed arm instantly shut his mouth. Waldo had pierced his throat.

Waldo continued towards the next target but was knocked back by the armored vehicle.

Kenelm sat in the driver's seat of the armored vehicle, pressing the accelerator forcefully as he charged forward.

"You damn bastard, die!"

Waldo hadn't even stood up yet when he was directly hit against the S-alloy fence.

The powerful impact made blood trickle from the corners of his mouth.
