Chapter 45 - Alanna's jealousy

After Waldo finished speaking, he asked Bob and the others to leave. They had no choice but to comply. However, Bob was still concerned before leaving.

"Waldo, please don't harm Mia these days. She's young," Bob said anxiously.

Waldo understood the implied meaning behind Bob's words. "Are you treating me like a pervert?" Waldo responded casually. "Bob, you worry too much. I believe you've seen the video. I'm not that kind of creepy person. I have my limits, and you can rest assured that your daughter will be safe."

Bob suddenly remembered that the person in the video, 10086, was also a young individual with an upright demeanor, not someone who would take advantage of others in a vulnerable situation. Feeling somewhat ashamed, Bob apologized, "Waldo, please forgive my overthinking. Well then, I'll take my leave now."

Bob turned and walked away. After a few steps, unable to resist, he turned back and advised Mia, "Mia, you need to be obedient these days and not anger Waldo. In three days, Dad will bring the antivirus serum and take you home."

Mia nodded. "Dad, I'll behave. You should go back first."

Bob couldn't help but sigh, then he walked ahead, leading the team in leaving. Dale also glanced back at Waldo and Mia before leaving.

Once Bob and the others were far away and out of sight from the drones in the sky, Waldo finally let his guard down. He suddenly embraced Mia around her waist, pulling her close. This sudden proximity made Mia's heart race, and she looked annoyed.

"Hey, even though I'm your captive, can you not take advantage of me?" Mia complained.

Waldo smirked and said, "I can let go of you, but you need to open your backpack to me. I can't trust you to stay too far away from me. Who knows if you might try something?"

Mia's face darkened. She did have thoughts of escaping, but she didn't expect Waldo to be so vigilant, not giving her the slightest opportunity. Mia reluctantly opened the permissions for her backpack, allowing Waldo to access its contents.

Waldo took a quick glance and found very few supplies. The only valuable item was the blueprint for a samurai sword. He only left some essential daily necessities, such as bread and bottled water. Anything else that could potentially pose a threat to him was confiscated.

Once the potential threats were eliminated, Waldo untied Mia and rubbed her wrists. Suddenly, Mia tried to run, but Waldo immediately caught up to her and held her tightly.

"Behave and don't test my patience!" Waldo warned. "As long as you cooperate, I won't harm you in the slightest. I might even provide you with good food and drinks. However, if you foolishly run out and get eaten by zombies or get captured by other survivors as a toy, I won't take responsibility."

After Waldo finished speaking, he let go of Mia and walked towards the residential area. Mia gritted her teeth from behind, hesitated for a while, and reluctantly followed. Without any weapons, she couldn't get far on her own.

As they left, Waldo retrieved a car from the garage and put it in his backpack. It would save them a lot of time to drive Mia back. When they reached the residential area, the automated gate sensed Waldo's car and opened. After they passed through, the gate slowly closed.

In the villa, Alanna heard the sound outside the fortified wall and the roar of the car engine, knowing that Waldo had returned.

She eagerly rushed out to greet him, but what she saw left her perplexed. Waldo had returned, but he was accompanied by a woman who got out of the passenger seat where she usually sat.

Mia was the first to notice Alanna, whose appearance was on par with her own beauty. In fact, Alanna's alluring figure added to her appeal. Mia glanced at her own slender and delicate frame and felt a bit resentful, sarcastically remarking, "Well, well, who would have thought, a beauty hidden in a golden house."

With that, Mia walked straight into the villa, brushing past Alanna. Once inside, she went directly to the refrigerator, found a chilled Coke, and opened it as if she were not an outsider. Alanna, who was still outside the house, approached Waldo and anxiously asked, "Waldo, who is she and how did she end up in our home?"

Waldo was taken aback by the question. He wanted to explain, but realized it would be troublesome. So he said, "Her name is Mia, and she'll be staying here for a few days. It's hard to explain right now. Can you help her get a room ready later? I'm starving; I've been out all day. What did you cook for dinner? Let's go inside and eat."

Alanna, who was being held by Waldo, forced a smile and walked into the villa with him. In the evening, after Alanna finished showering and came out of the bathroom, she climbed onto the bed and moved closer to Waldo.

Waldo was initially examining the materials for making the samurai sword blueprint but was interrupted. He wanted to tell Alanna not to bother him, but before he could speak, his mouth was sealed shut. Waldo was left bewildered by the sudden turn of events, but soon he stopped worrying about it.

"Tonight, you came looking for trouble yourself. Let me show you what I'm capable of!" he thought.

Another intense battle ensued. Unlike before, Alanna didn't consciously suppress her desires. Meanwhile, Mia, locked in her room, couldn't sleep at all. The noise from the neighboring room seemed like an unending disturbance.

Frustrated, she sat up on her bed, her face filled with embarrassment, and muttered, "Shameless! So shameless! Too shameless!"

"Ah, I just want to sleep!"

However, her strong curiosity made her unable to resist the temptation. She secretly pressed her ear against the wall, telling herself with a studious mindset, "Just listen for a bit."

Waldo was quite curious as to why Alanna, who was usually somewhat traditional and conservative, was behaving so unusually on this ordinary night.

"Alanna, is there something special about today? You seem to be... um... more playful tonight," he asked.

Alanna collapsed onto Waldo, and upon hearing his words, she gently brushed aside a few strands of hair matted with sweat that obstructed her vision. "Do you like it?" she asked, somewhat embarrassed.

Waldo felt a bit awkward. "I like it, but I prefer the real you. Tonight, you seem a bit contrived," he replied.

Alanna was taken aback and asked, "Where did I fake it? Did I go overboard with my performance?"

Alanna blushed as if she had been dipped in red dye, her face turning translucently red. She whimpered and buried her face in Waldo's embrace, as if desperately searching for a place to hide.

Waldo gently pulled Alanna's rosy ear and made her look at him. With a gentle smile, he said, "Next time, you don't have to try so hard to please me. Our happiness comes from being genuine together. Now, tell me, you must have something on your mind; otherwise, you wouldn't act so out of character."

Alanna felt a bit embarrassed. "It's not a big deal, really," she said.

Waldo raised an eyebrow, pretending to be upset. "Still not being honest? I might get angry. I don't want any secrets between us."

Alanna hurriedly said, "Waldo, please don't be mad. I didn't mean to hide it from you; I just felt a bit embarrassed."

"There's nothing to be embarrassed about between us. Tell me," Waldo insisted.

After a moment of silence, Alanna earnestly asked, "Waldo, who is that Mia?"
