Waldo and Alanna drove back to the villa area.
Under the watchful eyes, both hidden and overt, the fortified walls slowly opened the electric gate. The two calmly drove inside.
Despite the intimidation caused by Waldo's brutal methods, some survivors still couldn't help but think about Waldo's resources and fortified walls in the villa area.
One survivor, putting down the curtains and retracting their gaze from spying on Waldo, sighed and said, "I really don't understand where 10086 got so many supplies from, and they even managed to get electricity."
Their teammate could only offer consolation, "Be content, at least we have a place to rest."
The eavesdropping survivor couldn't help but exclaim, "Damn it, when we manage to get battle supplies one day, I'm going straight to 10086's lair and wipe them out!"
The teammate laughed and scolded, "If you're up for it, go ahead. You've had your fill of dried meat from the park flower bed, now you want to hang yourself there? Stop thinking about all this nonsense, tomorrow we'll go gather supplies, and you better kill more zombies for real."
The survivor who was teased didn't get angry and just scratched their head, saying, "Damn it, of course I know that. 10086's supplies seem endless. If I provoke them, I'll just be asking for death."
Waldo parked the car in the garage and lowered the electric roller shutter door.
As Alanna walked along, she counted on her fingers, "Waldo, this time we got quite a lot of supplies, several boxes of bread, and also towels, clothes, and um, Waldo? Waldo, where did you go?"
Just as Alanna was talking to herself, taking stock of the supplies, she turned her head to look at Waldo and found that he wasn't by her side anymore, and there was no one around.
Suddenly, she felt a slap on her raised buttocks but turned to see no one there. Then, her cheek was pinched.
A ghost? Alanna was startled. She immediately pulled out a crossbow arrow and held it against her chest, looking around left and right in the air.
"Haha, you got scared, didn't you?" Waldo suddenly appeared in front of Alanna.
It was then that Alanna realized that it was all Waldo's prank. But how did he do it?
"You scared me again. Aren't you afraid I'll shoot you with an arrow?" And what just happened? Did you gain some new ability?
"You don't even know. When you suddenly appeared earlier, you nearly scared me to death." Alanna kept asking questions nonstop.
Waldo touched Alanna's head and pretended to look pitiful. "I just wanted to give you a surprise, but I didn't expect to frighten you. Ah, I'm so sad."
Alanna looked at Waldo's somewhat aggrieved expression and felt a bit guilty. "Waldo, that's not what I meant. I was just... I was genuinely scared, not blaming you."
Waldo didn't say anything but pointed to his own face with his finger. Alanna obediently tiptoed and kissed Waldo's cheek.
Waldo nodded in satisfaction.
"Hmm, that's more like it. I forgive you." Alanna was puzzled. Wait a minute, she was the one who was scared by Waldo, so why was she apologizing to him?
Alanna, who knew she had been led astray by Waldo, felt both embarrassed and annoyed. "Fine, Waldo, you tricked me again! I'm ignoring you now!!"
Waldo laughed heartily and hugged Alanna.
They both sat on the living room sofa, and Waldo smiled at the sulking Alanna and said, "Who made you so easily fooled by me? You're such a silly girl."
Alanna blushed and reached out to pinch Waldo's thigh but found that she couldn't pinch it. Huh? Alanna was puzzled.
You know, even with Waldo's low body fat percentage before, his muscles wouldn't have been so tight and engorged. It seems that it's not the hardness of the muscles but the hardness of the surface skin.
Noticed it? Waldo smiled.
Alanna, being a doctor herself, quickly noticed Waldo's changes.
The elasticity of his surface skin remained, as if a thin, invisible protective film had been applied to his whole body.
Alanna curiously said, "Is this the body enhancement provided after reaching level ten?"
Waldo shrugged. He wasn't sure either. The system only hinted that reaching level ten would bring physical enhancements, but the specific aspects of enhancement were unclear.
All I can feel at the moment is that my defense capability has improved a lot. Waldo took out a dagger and slid it across his arm, leaving only a red mark without breaking the skin.
Alanna was startled by Waldo's self-harming behavior and quickly grabbed his arm to inspect it. She found no injury, which reassured her. Then came the amazement.
Slashing with a knife and not getting hurt!
Waldo retracted the dagger and said, "If you don't apply excessive force, a knife won't cut my skin. However, in combat, others will surely strike with deadly force, and I'll still get injured. But it does reduce a significant amount of damage, which is pretty good."
Next, Waldo disappeared into thin air in front of Alanna. But she could still feel that she was holding Waldo's hand. The next moment, Waldo reappeared in front of Alanna. This is the second change I've discovered.
Alanna exclaimed, "Is this invisibility?! This is too incredible! It's not scientifically possible!"
After saying that, Alanna burst into laughter at her own words. Waking up in a post-apocalyptic world with zombies and windows resembling a game interface was already far from scientific.
Yet, she was questioning the scientific aspect of invisibility. It was simply nonsensical.
Waldo said, "It seems to be a skill, and I haven't seen any limitations. You can use it whenever you want. This skill is truly amazing for stealth. I suddenly thought that I could sneak to the rear of the zombies and create a spectacular explosion scene."
Alanna covered her mouth, amused by Waldo's words. She then asked, "Waldo, does this invisibility have any drawbacks? Also, has there been no change in your body stats?"
Waldo opened his personal information and said, "Not much change, but it feels sufficient. It's basically the limit that an ordinary person can achieve, right?"
Number 10086:
Level: 10 (0/1000)
Strength: 20
Agility: 20
Stamina: Vigorous
Skill: Stealth
Alanna looked at Waldo's personal data, pondering for a moment, and said, "I think the system intentionally caps the values at twenty, to ensure that later on, as everyone's levels increase, no one will be eliminated due to physical limitations. We'll rely more on resources to deal with the zombies and other threatening survivors. Of course, it's also possible that the values will have other purposes later on. In the end, it's the system that calls the shots."
