I kept holding onto Amazo until Martian Manhunter finally arrived with Wonder Woman. "John, come over here and let him copy your powers, it's the only way to resolve our current situation without harming a potential future ally".
Martian Manhunter seemed to trust me as he started to come my way, only to be stopped by Wonder Woman. "Are you all insane? If he copies his powers, he will have all of our powers and be unstoppable. What will you do then?"
I sighed. It wasn't her fault, she didn't know what was happening like I did, none of them did. I needed to be patient with them. "Amazo is not our enemy, he was recently born into this world and he has been taken advantage of by Luthor, my hopes are for him to gain Martian Manhunters powers and then let him probe Luthors mind and find out the truth. I have no intention of making such a powerful and innocent sentient being my enemy, when we can just as well be allies. Amazo needs roots more than anything. Let's try and be those roots".
Amazo had been listening to our conversation and had temporarily stopped squirming as I held him in the lock. Seeing this, John continued his approach. Wonder Woman was about to say something again, but John/Martian Manhunter stopped her. "It is my choice, I choose to try the peaceful route that our team mate King Moonlight has offered us". Wonder Woman no longer tried to hold John back as John was now in front of Amazo.
"You can let go of him now". Said John right as Luthor arrived on the scene, but had heard the end of the conversation on his arrival.
"What are you doing? Kill them right this instance. They are the ones trying to trick you, not me!" Luthor yelled at the android.
"...I....I don't know what to believe" replied Amazo as he started to absorb Martian Manhunters powers. After absorbing the powers he looked at Luthor. Luthor sensing danger backed away a couple of steps and grabbed a small handheld device out of his armors metallic belt.
"So you lied to me? It was all a lie wasn't it? There is no reason to lie any longer Lex, I can now read your mind".
Without further thought, Luthor flipped open the handheld device that was similar to a pocket lighter exposing a red button that he quickly pressed. A half a second after Lex pushed the button, Amazo's head exploded. All of the Justice League except for myself looked worried and shocked at Lex blowing up the Androids head.
"You could have lived, but you just had to make me your enemy. Pity". Lex started to walk away. The Justice League couldn't tie any of this to him and he knew it. No point in sticking around. After about four steps Amazo's voice was heard from behind him. "Now it's my turn".
Luthors eyes flew open in shock as he quickly tried to fly away in his armored suit, only to quickly be dragged back by Amazo who used the green lanterns power to pull him back.
"I say we let them waste each other" Said Flash
"Since when do we do what you say?" asked Hawk girl in response as she prepared to go break up the fight. John seeing this quickly put up his hand. "Wait". He said, seemingly knowing something the rest didn't know.
We all watched as Amazo tore the armor off of Lex piece by piece. Each time he tore off a piece of armor, Lex screamed out in pain as it would scratch against his flesh on each pull. No blood was drawn from what I could see, so it wasn't a surprise that the league members didn't stop it.
When Amazo reached for the last bit of armor protecting what little dignity Lex had left, Lex pleaded with him. "No, Stop, Please..." Amazo hearing this, stopped his actions and looked down at Lex in pity. "So small" he said before turning his head towards us. "All of you. All of this is meaningless, there is nothing I want from you anymore. None of you has anything to offer me now".
The Justice League was quiet as they heard his words and could not respond. Amazo then stared up into the nights sky and then started to glow and turn from his usual silver metallic look to a beautiful shade of gold before slowly floating up towards the stars.
"Where's he going" asked Flash
John hearing The Flash's words looked deep in thought before speaking. "Where gods belong".
"Ah fuck, why did you have to say that?" I asked as I grabbed Amazos ankle and pulled him down to the ground, slamming his new golden face into the pavement. "You aren't even a week old and you are already so cocky. That's it, I'm adopting you".
Amazo got back up and threw a punch at me which collided with my forehead causing a small shockwave. Remembering that Superman had a magic weakness as well, I shot Amazo with my magical eye beams causing him to fall to the ground. He was unable to copy my powers and therefore could not overcome this weakness because he did not understand it. The only magic he had encountered before was from Hawk Girl and her and my magic were completely different.
Looking down at the android who was to be my future son, I couldn't help but chuckle. "Ha! you sure talked big for someone who was beat so easily. This isn't even my final form pipsqueak".
I then looked over at the rest of the league, I informed them of what I was doing before I left. "Ive decided to adopt this kid, I feel that if I leave him alone, he will only become a rotten egg. I'll catch up to the rest of you later". The Justice league had already somewhat labeled me as the crazy and unpredictable league member in their hearts and so they only looked on as I grabbed Amazo and then teleported back home before I threw him into a prison cell. "You're grounded for a week".
Amazo could only look confused as he began to sit up, the magic no longer inflicting damage on him. Immediately he tried to escape the room he was in only to find out it was impossible. Amazo then looked my way as he became more and more confused. "Who or what are you?" he asked.
I laughed again. "I already told you. Weren't you listening? From this point on, I am your father".
I was impulsive like this at times, but I felt bad for the Android and his parting words had rubbed me the wrong way. I felt he needed some discipline so he could grow into a greater and more upstanding being later, but more than that, he needed a place to call home. His previous creator Professor Ivo who he had considered his father had died shortly after creating him and he now no longer has family.
As someone who had no parents growing up, I was always a sucker towards other orphans and had a hard time turning a blind eye to him.
