"Hanabi-chan I'm sure you're tired but would you mind comin with me for a sec, we need to have a chat with the others." The cute lil fox nodded, doesn't seem to be much of a talker. I led her to Finn's office down the hall and found Finn, Gareth, and Riveria already waiting.
Before even saying anything I handed them a copy of Hanabi's status and watched as their eyes went wide as dinner plates "heh, ain't every day I get to see you surprised Finn.". My Familia's captain just looked up at me with a wry smile and said "How could I not be. I mean this is pretty ridiculous even by our standards.". Well, can't argue with him on this one. I led the fox to a seat and started properly introducing the others "Listen up Hanabi-chan these three here are the executives of my Familia, the big fella who smells like booze is Gareth.". As I pointed to the dwarf she just nodded not even cracking a smile. Well I guess that's to be expected given what she's just been through. "The beauty here is my vice captain Riveria, but you can just call her mama." as I pointed to the elf, who is now glaring daggers at me, Hanabi just frowned and nodded her head. Guess that was in poor taste telling the brat she's got a new mom so soon... oops. "And this guy here is Finn, my captain." Hanabi just nodded to him, we're going to have our work cut out for us getting her to open up huh. I looked to Finn and nodded letting him take over.
"Hanabi there are a few things we need to talk about before you get settled in. First, never tell anyone other than the four of us about your status, at least for now. Your skill Spirit Blood of Surtr will make you a target, if other Familias hear about it they'll try to steal you away." I watched as Hanabi's expression somehow got even more serious as she listened to Finn, seems she at least has an idea about what's going on. That's good, would've been a pain to make sure she didn't tell anyone. "Second, you are never to go to the dungeon alone, One of us must be with you. I'm sure you want to get stronger as fast as you can, but if you run off on your own you're likely to get hurt or worse." Hanabi just nodded, I really hope she'll come around soon. It's a shame for such a cute kid to be so serious. "Third, once you feel ready to start, I'll start training you in combat and since you already have a spell Riveria will start teaching you about magic." Hanabi was staring at Finn intently and I started to get a bad feeling. "I'm ready" Is all she said, to which everyone present sighed. "I see, take at least a few days to recover, get to know your new home and the other Familia members. Riveria will show you to your room." Hanabi frowned but nodded. As she stood up Finn said "One last thing Hanabi." Hanabi looked back to him and tilted her head. SO CUTE. "If you ever need anything just ask one of us, or the other members, this is your home just as much as it is ours." Finn then smiled gently at her. Surprising everyone Hanabi returned the smile and nodded, well the corners of her mouth barely moved but hey that's progress.
After Riveria showed Hanabi out I looked to Finn and Gareth and said "So you're tellin me that cute lil thing was *made of fire*". Gareth started chuckling and said "I know it sounds crazy but you saw her status." I just sighed and said "Well yeah but, I mean come on. I've met mortals with spirit blood a few times before, but none of could do anything like that. Plus its not just any spirit blood, its Surtr's.". Finn raised an eyebrow at that and asked "Is that important?". I let out yet another sigh "Very. This flirts with what deities are allowed to tell mortals so I can't give you details. Spirits come in all shapes and sizes, and Surtr is the strongest fire spirit. The fact that he got it on with some fox girl at some point in the past is pretty ridiculous.". Finn and Gareth didn't really have a response to that so I just got up and said "Well, goes without sayin but keep an eye on her."
After we left the office the pretty elf lady, Riveria, showed me around this place. Apparently its called Twilight Manor. This place is a maze, I'm sure I'll get lost a lot for a while. Riveria showed me where the cafeteria is and introduced me to a few people, they seemed nice but I wasn't hungry so we left. After that she showed me a few other places like the training grounds, the armory, how to get out, her room, and eventually my new room.
Riveria said there were other people in the nearby rooms so if I needed anything I could just ask them. Apparently I get my own room, it's pretty big. It has a bed, desk, chair, fireplace, and even it's own bathroom. This is probably the nicest room I've ever had to myself, actually the only room I've ever had to myself. Before we left mom, dad, and I stayed in a small one room house. This is definitely nicer, but I've never stayed away from my parents for so long. But now they're... *SLAP* No time for that! As I slap my cheeks I have to remind myself to stay focused. I can be sad after I get strong, there's no time to waste.
I'm a bit upset that Finn is making me wait to start training but it can't be helped, he's the captain after all. Earlier I asked Riveria if my magic was strong and she said with a lot of training and studying it can be, so as soon as I can I need to start both. Then there's my skills, apparently I can turn into a fox? That doesn't sound too strong, I mean foxes are small. But it said size depends on my Magic stat, All the more reason to start training as soon as I can.
As I get changed and brush my teeth, Mom would always get angry when I didn't so it must be important, I can't stop thinking about tomorrow. I hope Finn lets me start soon I don't think I can handle waiting much longer...
