Chereads / I Became the Staff God / Chapter 9 - Abaddon.

Chapter 9 - Abaddon.

Even after having killed the leader of the sect that had destroyed his old home, Zen wasn't satisfied, he picked up the sword the man he had just killed used and ran, ran towards the black faction to make it suffer the same fate as him. Within seconds, he reached the building, without any hesitation, he jumped right into the sect, making sure to alert the men of his presence, however that was not necessary, as at least twenty men had just appeared before him, every single one with their swords out, Qi flowing through them. 'Our leader.. Where is he?' spoke one of the men, expecting an answer, however the very next second he had been beheaded, Zen stood right where he was, however he now had the man's head in hand. Some of them screamed in terror, trying to run, however they were all beheaded, by their own leader's sword. Only ten remained.

'You guys realise that you are not making out of this alive, right?' Spoke Zen, arrogantly, no reply came. Four of the men charged at Zen, Zen raised his sword, the four men aiming at Zen's neck, all Zen did was swiftly move out of the way of their attacks. Zen believed that, with his newfound prowess, no one but the top ten strongest martial masters could even hold up a candle to him, however, the other six men, instead of fighting or running from him, arranged themselves in a formation around the building's perimeter, a tower rising from the centre of the faction, one of the men ran to the tower's top. Zen ended the fight with the four men with a swift slash to their abdomens, unbeknownst to what the other men were doing, after killing the men, he looked around, to slaughter the other men who were foolish enough to not run from him even after all the time he had given them, however all he saw was them on top of the walls, playing a black, sinister-looking flute, an uncanny melody befell the grounds near him. Even though he didn't know what they were doing, he tried to be cautious. He leapt off the ground, onto the wall, near one of the men, the man neither flinched, nor looked at Zen and kept playing the flute without a hint of fear. Seeing this, Zen swiftly raised his sword and beheaded the man. However, to his surprise, the other men did nothing but arranged themselves accounting for the missing man, they now were in a diamond-shaped pattern. Zen did it again, killing another man playing the flute, the men now arranged themselves in a triangular pattern, Zen did so again, the men now faced each other, he did it again, one man remained, he tried to do the same to him, but he ran, while he kept playing the flute, around the perimeter. However he was also caught soon and was killed.

Even though Zen had now killed everyone in the black faction around him, he felt empty, a sense of fright washed over him as he heard the same, uncanny melody. He was sure he killed everyone around him, he lay shook when he remembered the man who went to the tower at the centre of the building, he ran to it, as fast as he could, he reached it, but as soon as he entered the tower, he saw the man, small in height, restrained to chains as he recited, 'And with the blood of my own allies, I shall summon you, Abaddon, of the Abyss.'. His very body seemed to be withering away, all that remained was the chains and the ashes left by the man. Zen was confused for an instant, as a tall, male figure appeared before him, four large, bloody and bony tentacles rupturing out of his back, it looked at Zen and spoke, 'Oh how nice it feels to be back in the material world again'.
