Chapter 139 - Uncovering

The back of his head throbbed with excruciating pain. Still clutching Ash's hand, Ace reached up with his other hand to remove the blindfold, but something stopped his wrist mid-air. He heard the sharp clank of chains rubbing against each other, confirming his suspicion.

They were captives, likely held by that Lynn person, and probably in the same room as Diane. Ace heard creaking footsteps on the old wooden floor, coming closer. He could feel the girl's presence approaching. Moments later, she reached out, and his blindfold was removed.

Lynn stood in front of him, holding the black blindfold. She looked at him with blank, indifferent eyes.

"I hit you hard," she said, pausing.

"Normally, when people are hit at the back of the head, it causes a shock to their neurons, forcing them to lose consciousness. It can even shake their brain. I assumed you wouldn't wake up anytime soon, like him." She nudged her chin in Ash's direction.
