At last, Lawrence came forward and grab Kevin's hand.
"It's not there."
Kevin's ears flopped in disappointment.
Lawrence's brows perked up noticing this but he did not say anything.
A few meters from them, Jason's innards has successfully merged together. Jason's lower body had formed. One of his dismembered arm picked up the rifle, took hold of the sling, and crawled towards his newly formed lower half.
Shivers ran through Kevin's spine.
Lawrence also did not hesitate. He drag Kevin to the opposite direction. They took the stairs and started to go up.
"Where are we going?"
"To the hidden chamber." Lawrence replied.
Just as when they turned to a corner, a bullet shot past Kevin's head.
If Lawrence did not jerk his hand down and forcibly made him bow, he would have been shot.
