"I—I'm going to think about it," Lucia said nervously, glancing at the bathroom and then at Jason.
"Frederick is here with me. You should go now. What if he sees you?"
Jason had no choice but to resign himself to his fate. "Fine, but tonight, I will come by your room. Tell me your answer by then."
"What? Tonight? Isn't that too soon?" Lucia was taken aback.
Jason took her hand and kissed the back of it.
"Yes, but your parents left me no choice. If I don't leave now, they will come to my theater company tomorrow, spread rumors, and look for trouble to force us into bankruptcy. Do you know why it took me years just to get my own concert? Because your parents have been suppressing me for years. They already suspected us, which is why they forced you to marry Frederick while I'm stuck being your music teacher."
