With every breath she drew, it felt like her lungs were grazing against an axe's blade. Her skull was pounding nonstop with a diabolic migraine. She could not even turn her head by one inch without feeling like she had been slugged with a mason's mallet.

Etiquette was the luxury of those in good health. She on the other hand could not afford it right now.

Nexus' anxiety eased off. He had her full consent now. It was all the green light he needed.
