"Wait, I agree," Yuhi called out, her voice filled with a mix of hesitation and sympathy.
"What? Really?" Alex asked, seeking confirmation of her words.
"Yes," Yuhi replied in a low voice.
"Whaat! Really? Thank you, sis!" Alex exclaimed, running towards Yuhi, attempting to embrace her in a hug.
However, Yuhi quickly sidestepped, causing Alex to stumble and fall on his face. "Humph! You bad boy, trying to take advantage of me again," she said, her voice filled with a mixture of amusement and reproach.
"No, I was just a little excited," Alex said, rubbing his head sheepishly.
"Okay, you can move in tomorrow. For today, go back to your home and pack your things so that you can officially move in tomorrow," Yuhi instructed.
"Uhh... I don't think I need to do that," Alex responded, hesitatingly.
"Huh? Why?" Yuhi exclaimed, confusion evident in her voice.
"Because... after the death of my parents, I sold everything that wasn't taken away by my relatives to cover my school fees. Currently, I only have my phone, charger, books, bag, and some canned food. Since all of these are in my bag right now, I don't think I need to go back to that house anymore..." Alex explained, his eyes betraying a hint of sorrow and loneliness.
Upon seeing the loneliness in her student's eyes, Yuhi felt a twinge of sympathy. She tried to cheer him up, saying, "Why are you getting sad? You have a chance to live with a beauty like me. Why do you still care about all these things? Just start a new life. You've told me that you're a genius, so if you plan to reveal yourself, then do so and change your life."
"You're right. Let's go," Alex said, his resolve firm and tears welling up in his eyes.
"Now, why are you crying?" Yuhi asked, concerned.
"Sis, I'm not crying. It's just that I'm too excited for my new start. It still feels surreal to leave behind all the things of the past and begin anew," Alex replied, his face reflecting a mix of emotions. 'Mom, Dad, and Scarlet, I'm finally leaving behind my past and starting a new life. Scarlet, will you still be watching me, as you said? I will keep on living.'
"It can be a bit difficult to forget your past all of a sudden, but you should try to adapt to the current situation. Since you're starting a new life, you'll be extremely busy and won't have enough time to ponder about your past. Anyways, it's getting late. Shouldn't we hurry back? It's almost 6:30 pm," Yuhi reminded him, a sense of unease in her voice. She didn't want a repeat of the time she got stuck in heavy traffic due to working overtime.
"You're right. Let's go!" Alex nodded, and they both made their way out of the classroom.
Their classroom was located on the 12th floor of the school building. Each school year had its own floor, equipped with amenities such as washrooms, a canteen, a library, a pool, and study areas, along with the classrooms.
They soon reached the elevator and pressed the button. Yuhi pointed to the ground floor, where her somewhat big black car was parked, and asked, "There it is, my car. What do you think of it?"
"Ah... forgive me, sis, but I can't see that far away since I suffer from myopia," Alex apologized.
"No need to ask for forgiveness," Yuhi waved her hand dismissively. "Myopia is a common vision condition where near objects appear clear, but objects farther away look blurry. It occurs when the shape of the eye causes light rays to bend inaccurately. But why didn't you buy glasses then? I understand that the operation is expensive, but glasses are affordable."
"Well, I didn't want to wear glasses because I thought they looked uncool," Alex explained, letting out an awkward laugh.
"It's okay then. Let's go. The elevator has arrived," Yuhi said, leading the way.
The elevator doors opened, revealing a relatively small space compared to other countries and areas, similar to a bathroom in a small house. Yuhi pressed the button for the ground floor, while Alex stood there silently, admiring the view outside the transparent elevator as it descended from the 12th floor to the ground floor, taking about a minute.
Ding! The elevator reached the ground floor, and both Yuhi and Alex stepped out, making their way to the parking area. Alex's eyes widened in astonishment as he spotted a sleek black car standing there, seemingly different from the car Yuhi described.
"S... sis, is that the famous RMW car?" Alex stammered.
"Yes," Yuhi replied nonchalantly. "What are you waiting for? Get in the car."
"Okay," Alex nodded, still in disbelief, and climbed into the car.
With a rev of the engine, the car roared to life and swiftly left the parking area. Yuhi maneuvered the vehicle with the expertise of an experienced driver, cruising at a speed of 110 km/h.
Soon, they arrived at a grand mansion, and the car glided through the gates, bringing them to their destination. Stepping out of the car, Alex looked at the magnificent mansion in awe. "Sis, you said you had a small house and lived alone. How is this considered small? Moreover, you live in this beautiful mansion all by yourself? What about the cleaning and maintenance?"
Chuckling softly, Yuhi replied, "What are you saying? This is truly a small house. The area where you used to live is much more rural and undeveloped compared to the Rain City. It's almost like a relic from the 1980s." Yuhi observed Alex's puzzled expression, realizing he must be unfamiliar with the advancements and modernization in more urban areas.
"Well, whatever. Let's go inside. I'm going to sleep on the second floor since I'm tired. The food is in the refrigerator. You can warm it up and eat. I'm going to sleep now. Oh, and you're not allowed to go to the second floor. You'll be staying on the first floor," Yuhi stated before walking away, leaving Alex standing there, still trying to process everything.
Alex remained dumbfounded for a moment, taking in the grandeur of his new surroundings. He couldn't help but wonder what awaited him in this seemingly unreal new chapter of his life.
