"The speed at which Maxwell sat down and, simultaneously, you approached felt awkward to me," Linda Lucas said.
Maxwell shook his head with a smile on his face, as if he knew why she had that thought. Emperor Gerald assured Linda that he would never do anything to hurt her, Zheng, or Maxwell.
Maxwell said, "Father, don't think too deeply into Linda's thought. I know where it came from. (Pause). What caused it. She has been reading many silly romance fiction novels in school."
The prince burst into laughter; his thought was amusing to him.
Linda protested, "It is not because I have read too many novels. In school, I hear real stories about people."
Maxwell interjected, saying, "Of course you did. You listened to real, fake, exaggerated stories."
He burst into another round of laughter. This time, it was a bit uncontrollable.
Linda turned to the emperor, looking annoyed. She said, "Father, this egg of a brother doesn't believe me."
