Annette clenched her fists. Without any proof, it was true that she couldn't prove herself innocent.
Melvin said unhappily, "Enough. Annette, you're fired. I will call the Finance Department later. Go there, get your pay, and don't come back tomorrow."
Annette looked up at him.
"I'm not convinced. Why should I leave?" Annette said.
Amanda said, "Annette did nothing wrong. Mr. Horton, this is unfair."
"Who calls the shots in the Training Department? Me or you?" Melvin said impatiently.
Just as Melvin finished speaking, a cold voice sounded from the door of the office, "Since when do the department heads call the shots in my company?"
As soon as he finished speaking, everyone looked over.
When Connor appeared, the entire office was silent.
Annette glanced at Connor, and then she quickly looked away and shifted her gaze to Amanda.
Annette figured that Amanda had gone to Connor for help.
