"Did I hurt you?" Annette looked puzzled.
"Why did you tell Connor what I said to you the night before? Did you think he should solve the problem between us?"
Annette pursed her lips tightly and then laughed.
Alina shouted, "What do you mean? Are you happy?"
"You said that my job would burden Connor, and I took your advice. So, I asked my mate's opinion. Is there anything wrong with that?"
"Annette, don't think you could just brush me off."
Annette raised her eyebrows and said, "Oh, I didn't, because I really don't care much about you."
Alina sneered, "Before he met you, Connor only loved me. Because of him, Lucas was crippled, and I ended up in an unhappy marriage. He should feel guilty because he ruined my life."
Annette felt that Alina's words were somewhat ridiculous.
"Alina, do you really know Connor? Before Lucas married you, Connor had many chances to make you his mate, but he didn't. That's because he wasn't sure if you were his true love."
