Anna was walking in the hall moving towards the stage when she saw a guy on the stage tied to a chair. She recognised him. It was the drunk guy who barged in their house a few days ago when she was alone. She knocked him out, but he regained conciseness and ran away. Anna didn't tell anyone because then she would have been considered weak, which she didn't want. She felt kind of scared and nervous now. She climbed the stairs that led to the stage, and the hall burst into loud applaude. Her father welcomed her on stage and called her to stand beside him. He lowered himself down and whispered to her, "A person who is guilty somehow should be considered an easy mark. Don't disappoint me."
Anna was shocked. She asked, "You knew?"
"How can I not when it was under my own roof." He replied.
He handed her the knife and stepped aside. Anna looked at the knife and then at the spectators. She thought of running away, but then she spotted Mary. Mary was on the balcony. She smiled approvingly at Anna. Anna held her breath and closed her eyes. She pulled the knife and then, with all her, might push it but stopped right before it touched the man. There was a wave of silence in the hall, and her father looked at her, his eyes telling her not to hold it back. The knife was once again pulled back, and Anna once again closed her eyes.
Blood splattered all over Anna's face in a diagnol pattern and scream echoed in the hall. Anna repeatedly stabbed the helpless man, and she felt not so bad, Infact not bad at all. She proudly held the knife carefully in both of her hands and returned it to her father. She was then provided with a wet cloth with which she cleaned her hands and face, leaving the stains on the cloth. Her black classic dress was splattered with blood, but she looked at it admiringly.
Everyone once again applauded, and then she was handed a pen and a few papers to sign. She had gone through those papers many times, despite not understanding a single thing she signed them. As soon as she was given the generational gun, there were gunshots everywhere.
Mary was now standing right at the entrance of the hall with an army of men dressed in black. Those men were firing at the most important guests and were making their way through them to Anna herself. Mary had betrayed her. It was just what her father had warned her about, but she hadn't listened. Anna was just processing the situation when she was dragged by her father just in time to avoid a bullet fired by Mary.
"Didn't I tell you not to invite her?" He asked. He was fuming, and Anna was on the verge of tears. She shook her hand away from the grip of her father and loaded her gun with bullets, which she grabbed from a random table and fired at everyone close to Mary, and then Anna aimed directly at her.
Anna would not let her father down this time.
"I will make her pay." Anna repeated in her mind.
