It was raining in KM, the southernmost part of the city. The dark and gloomy clouds filled up the sky even though it was seven in the morning.
*Rings Rings* The sound of the phone alarm woke up Lu Yanjun from his deep sleep. He grabbed his glasses then looked around. It was dark and gloomy even in his bedroom. He turned on his lamp besides his bed then slowly moved towards his wheelchair. From a young child until now, this rare disease is preventing him from walking and running. Everyday was a struggle but he never complained. Living alone had its own benefit.
As he exited his bedroom, he turned his wheelchair to his left-hand side which was the bathroom. He entered slowly and closed the door. After he finished washing himself, he went back to his bedroom to grab his necessary books and materials for the day. He wore his rain jacket as he exited his room. The whole building was quiet at 7:30 in the morning, Lu Yanjun took a quick bite of his home-made sandwich while waiting for the elevator. After heading out of his apartment, it was only drizzling but it was still dark and cloudy.
As he got on the bus, many people did not bat an eye on him which he was thankful because he doesn't enjoy when people judge him. Yanjun got out of the bus and wheeled himself out. As he got out, the university campus was already full of students. Many students greeted him and out of respect, he said his greetings as well.
Everyday was the same, Yanjun wheeled to his office and again, he greeted other professors as well. As he got to his desk, he placed his stuff on there and organized himself before heading to the lecture hall. At 9 AM, he entered the lecture hall with over 100 students already waiting for him. Half an hour later, another student entered but he did not look interested in coming to Yanjun's class. His eyes shifted to Yanjun while Yanjun adjusted his glasses.
"Please take a seat." Yanjun told the student and he went to his seat without saying anything. Yanjun knew this student, his name was Han Yuze. Yuze did not pay attention to anything in biology class but his eyes automatically shifted to Yanjun. He felt something inside of him whenever he looked at Yanjun.
While Yanjun was lecturing about cell biology, Yuze gazed at Yanjun hoping he would notice. But it wasn't successful at all. Yanjun did not bat an eye on Yuze instead he kept on lecturing. After class ended, Yuze was the only student left in the room. Yanjun looked at him sternly and said, "If you don't study hard in my class, feel free to leave." He was about to leave when Yuze stopped his wheelchair.
"Professor, I need to tell you something." Yuze hesitated for a bit then decided not to touch Yanjun's shoulder.
"What is it? If it's not important, we can talk about it next time." Yanjun waited for him to reply and Yuze finally said something.
"Professor Lu, I... I... " Yuze gripped his backpack then sighed, "I'm sorry, Professor Lu. I apologize for my behavior. I won't do it next time."
Yanjun nodded and wheeled himself out of the lecture hall. Yuze stood there as his heart rate increased. He never felt this way before. Even when random girls confess to him, he did not feel a thing. But whenever Yuze looked at him, he felt his body burning up.
Yanjun looked out the window and the sun was finally out. He wasn't the type to go out so he stayed at his office while answering questions for students. Yanjun was about to go for lunch when he heard a knock on his office door. He looked on his left and saw Yuze standing there and waving at him.
"Professor Lu, did you eat yet? I got an extra sandwich from the cafeteria. Do you want it?" Yuze looked happy because he wanted to show his good side to Yanjun. But Yanjun looked at him and replied, "I'm not interested. Thank you. Please leave if you don't have any questions." Yuze went into Yanjun's office and walked towards him.
He gently touched Yanjun's hand and gave him the sandwich, "Professor Lu, please eat." He wanted to hold Yanjun's hand for a longer time but Yanjun moved his hand.
"Yuze, this is not appropriate. Please leave." Yanjun did not look at Yuze and he left without saying anything. But as soon as Yuze left, Yanjun felt a tingling sensation that he never felt before.
