Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

As I stretched awake in bed, I reached for my phone which was propped up on a nightstand beside me. The time read '11:45 am'. I suddenly froze with panic. I was late for work. I'm talking 4 hours late. I hurriedly rushed out of bed, eventually stopping for a second time. That wasn't my nightstand, or my bed, or even my room. Where the hell was I?! I looked down at myself. I was still wearing my dress, thank god.

Suddenly, the door crept open. It was Tyler.

"Hey, did you sleep well?" He said as he slipped in the room, lightly combing his waves forward with his hand as he sits on the bed.

He wore gray shorts and a gray T-shirt along with gray socks and white slides.

"Yeah, actually. This place yours?" I asked, head pounding.

"Yep. How are you feeling?"

"Hangover is real." I said sitting down on the bed beside him.

He gave a little chuckle, and nodded his head in agreement.

"By the way, I called off work for the both of us for a couple days." He was looking down at the ground, then up at me. "I was hoping we could get to know each other better." He continued.

I smiled at him.

"Do you have anything I could change into?" I asked.

"Yeah."

He got up off of the bed leaving the room, shortly returning with a white T-shirt and black shorts. I took the clothes.

"Bathroom?"

He motioned over at the door placed at the foot of the bed. I entered, turning on the light and shutting the door behind me. I looked myself in the eyes through the mirror. Makeup remained on my face from the night before, my lipstick was smudged and my eyes were streaked. I sort of felt a twinge of embarrassment pang in the pit of my stomach; Tyler had just seen me like this. I quickly splashed my face with water and rinsed my face clean of the remaining makeup. I hurriedly freshened up and changed into the clothes he had given me. I had to roll up the top of the shorts a couple of times as they were gigantic on me. The shirt hung as long as the length of the shorts on my body.

As I exited the bathroom, Tyler was nowhere to be seen. Making my way out of the bedroom, I analyzed the house in search of the stairs. Once my eyes locked on them, I slowly crept my way down. Looking around his home, it was beautiful. It truly reflected what I had already known about him in an elegant, modern, classy sort of way. Lost in the beauty that surrounded me, I found myself in the kitchen having been gravitating toward a delectable aroma.

"Hey, you." He spoke. "There's some coffee over there for you." He glanced over to where a mug was placed and a pot of coffee stood.

I poured some coffee in a mug, making it just to my liking. I turned around and leaned on the counter, taking the first sip.

"So, whatcha making over there? Smells good."

"Strawberry crepes; for breakfast."

"Sounds delicious." I say while taking another sip from the mug.

Suddenly Tyler comes in my direction. I place the coffee in my hand on the counter. He reached his hand above my head, just inches away from me. His cologne bounced from his body to my nose. He smelled amazing. He looked down at me, his face getting closer to mine. He gave me that all too familiar mischievous smirk of his. My breath caught in my throat, I didn't know what to do with myself. The moment of silence was interrupted when I heard a 'clink'. I used the distraction as an opportunity to come to my senses. He was reaching in the cabinet above me for the cinnamon seasoning container as an add-in for the crepes. Before he walked away to finish preparing breakfast, he tilted my chin upward so that I was now face to face with him. His lips are only an inch away. It was almost as if he was staring at my soul, trying to figure something out. He gently planted a kiss on my forehead. He lightly smiled while backing up before turning around and finishing the food.

As I regained my composure, I picked up the cup of coffee I had been enjoying and made my way to the kitchen island, awaiting the crepes. Did that really just happen? I mean, Tyler is really attractive. He has style and taste. What does he see in me? Do I even feel the same way? I wouldn't want to lead him on; that's just wrong.

I then felt my phone vibrate. An unknown number.

The text read:

"Hey, it's Micheal from the cafe; and the club I guess you could say."

"Oh hey, how are you?" I responded.

"I'm great, and you?"

"Yeah, same."

"Are you busy this Friday night?" He questioned.

"Actually no, I'm not."

"Great! Would you like to go out for dinner then?"

"Sure, why not."

"We can meet at the Cera De Lave Restaurant around 7:00 pm."

"That restaurant is very expensive, y'know."

"Yeah, but it's fine. Trust me. Plus you won't have to pay for anything. It's all on me."

"You sure about that?" I asked.

"Yes, of course. I'm the one who asked you out."

"How sweet of you."

"Of course. There's more where that comes from, you'll just have to wait and see." He replied.

I looked up from my phone to ask Tyler a question.

"Hey, so… What did you mean by you want to get to know each other?"

He turned around and served me a big plate of strawberry crepes. They looked and smelled absolutely delightful.

"Exactly that. I want to get to know you. I kind of think you're feeling me a little bit too."

Is he right? Do you have slight feelings for him?

Maybe I do…
