Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: Extreme Terror!

In the horror movie Alien 1, only one alien appeared on the entire spacecraft, and this alien killed everyone on board except for the main characters. Its terrifying strength was evident in the film.

Zero silently squatted down after seeing three corpses, wiping some blood with his hand and sniffing it near his nose. "They've been dead for about four to five hours."

Xavier Sabato also crouched next to the bodies. He gestured on the chests of two of the corpses with his fingers, then gestured on the body with a large hole in its chest. After a while, he stood up with a solemn expression. "It's indeed the Queen. This is bad. Our mission is to kill all the aliens, right? If there is a Queen on the spacecraft... then we're in big trouble."

Everyone looked at him, and Jane Lan touched her forehead. "I remember the Queen refers to the female alien that lays eggs. It's larger in size compared to the regular aliens. Are you referring to this type of alien?"

Xavier Sabato nodded. "Yes, that's the one. It's a more formidable variant of the alien, nearly ten times stronger than the regular ones. It's impossible to harm it without heavy weapons. And the worst part is, we are too conspicuous."

Smith Lee asked curiously, "Too conspicuous? What do you mean?"

"Food, think about it. For a creature that starts out the size of a small snake and grows to over two meters in a short period, do you think it can grow without consuming anything? Impossible. It requires a significant amount of organic matter and energy. In other words, it needs to feed during this period. I've been curious why these three bodies weren't devoured. Or perhaps, they've already found enough corpses?" Xavier Sabato muttered to himself, half-crouched.

After standing up, Xavier Sabato continued, "In other words, we are likely to become their food. If it were just the eight of us, it wouldn't be so bad. We are all together, so even if we encounter the aliens, we can keep track of their movements. But what about the other seven people? They have already scattered throughout the spacecraft. In the eyes of the aliens, they are the most delicious food. In fact, I suspect that all the characters in this plot have become alien eggs. Seven plot characters, excluding the robot, the worst-case scenario is one Queen plus five aliens. That's the most likely situation we will face."

Bill White asked in confusion, "Then why not have more Queens? Since it's just a debt, why not have a few more?"

Xavier Sabato shook his head. "That's not possible. In fact, aliens have their own social structure, just like a colony of ants or a beehive. In a colony, there can only be one Queen; otherwise, there will be internal conflicts and wars, or the weaker side will leave the colony. But this is a closed spacecraft, and there are only a few aliens. A second Queen simply cannot exist among them."

"In fact, ever since I watched the movie Alien, I've always believed that this fictional creature represents the pinnacle of physical evolution. They can modify their forms and adaptability based on the host's genes, continuously modifying their genes for evolution. It's similar to humans unlocking their genes."

"Gene unlocking? Humans?" Everyone looked at the scientist with the rank of Colonel, who was already indulging in his own thoughts. At that moment, screams and pleas for help suddenly came from deep within the corridor, growing more and more pitiful. After about ten seconds, those sounds disappeared without a trace.

Zero coldly stared at the corridor and said, "It's those three punks... They were attacked."

Smith Lee sighed and said, "Let's go take a look. In case we find any aliens, we can eliminate them... The aliens should be weak at this stage, right?"

Xavier Sabato nodded. "Yes, the aliens are still in the larval stage. They're indeed weak if we have enough firearms to deal with them. Besides the Desert Eagle, haven't you exchanged for any other weapons?"

Smith Lee, Bill White, and Jane Lan looked at each other and smiled wryly. Smith Lee said, "We are different from you after all. I'm just an ordinary office worker. Besides being a retired soldier, he's a writer, and he's a student. Can you expect us to have a lot of knowledge or know how to fight?"

Xavier Sabato smiled and said, "Let's go. We should go and see... And your words aren't entirely accurate. Didn't I mention the gene lock? It's the most advanced technology in the world. Our country happens to be at the forefront. Even the United States and those European countries may not know more than us."

"In ancient times, our ancestors were monkeys. No, even before monkeys, our ancestors appeared in that era with a certain level of intelligence. There is no evidence to explain why humans suddenly evolved from monkeys to humans. Don't believe the paragraphs in books about the gradual evolution of humans; they are all deceiving. Millions of years of evolution? Let me tell you the truth. According to the cutting-edge genetics, humans only went through a short period of about 120 years. Yes, not millions of years, not hundreds of thousands of years, not even thousands of years. Just a short period of about 120 years, humans completed all the necessary conditions to evolve from ancient humans to modern humans."

"In the human genes, from the oldest single-cell organism genes to multicellular organisms, to fish, to amphibians, it has been evolving slowly until the current human genes. Everything is displayed in the genetic code. Do you know what appeared on the human genetic code during those 120 years? Let me tell you, it was a lock."

"Yes, a lock. All of humanity's potential exploded in just 120 years. Afterward, for various unknown reasons, it was sealed. So, from ancient humans to modern humans, our level of evolution is minimal. Even in the recent tens of thousands of years, there has been no further evolution. You might argue about technological progress, that humans have become more advanced compared to tens of thousands of years ago. But that's only the accumulation of knowledge. It has nothing to do with the evolution of humans themselves. The evolution of humans has gradually stagnated."

Xavier Sabato continued while running, disregarding the astonishment and confusion on the faces of the others. He calmly said, "This space, I'm not referring to just the movie Alien 1. I'm referring to the entire cycle of horror movies. In fact, I've seen it a long time ago, but at that time, I didn't understand its significance. In the ruins where the Neanderthal skull was found on the mountaintop, our country actually discovered a stone tablet with inscriptions. We translated most of the text, and to summarize, it means that when human evolution comes to a complete halt, terror will reopen the human gene lock and push human evolution forward again... They are called the first batch of humans to unlock the gene lock. Perhaps, this space has existed since ancient times."

Suddenly, Smith Lee's heart stirred, and he asked, "What happens when the gene lock is unlocked? Do humans become superhumans?"

Xavier Sabato smiled and said, " Based on the genetic display, humans have no weak individuals. Every human should have their own strongest aspect, and this aspect undoubtedly possesses top-tier talent. In fact, through training, humans can reach this level of talent. For example, in sports, memory, wisdom... So eliminating the gene lock means that humans can decide their talent based on the situation. You can become a super genius when you need to use your brain, a strongman when you need strength, and in combat situations... become a super warrior who will survive no matter what, even if everyone else is dead."

"To be able to solve any problem in any situation, possessing an unwavering mentality and never giving up under any circumstances! This is the evolution after unlocking the gene lock!"

Xavier Sabato's words gave the others a great shock. Being able to change one's expertise at will, being able to survive in any situation, it was truly maximizing the potential of humans.

"Imagine for yourselves. When monkeys reached this limit, they became humans. So what will a human become when they reach this limit?"

"Let's imagine it for ourselves. When monkeys reached this limit, they became humans. So, if a human reaches this limit, what will they become?"

Smith Lee felt a sudden movement in his heart, as if he had suddenly thought of something. But when he tried to calm down and think carefully, he couldn't remember anything.

Zero suddenly broke the silence and asked, "How can we unlock the gene lock? Do we need some kind of medication or something else?"

Xavier Sabato waved his hand and said, "We need a substance similar to adrenaline, which can only be produced by the human body itself. And the most crucial point... it's highly toxic. I think you must have heard stories of elderly women lifting cars with one hand to save their grandchildren who were trapped underneath. It's a true story, and scientists found extremely trace amounts of this substance in her blood. So, it's impossible to rely on external forces to unlock the gene lock, at least not with our current human technology. To unlock the gene lock, we can only rely on our own efforts... But of course, right now we don't even know the direction to make those efforts, so we can only speculate. In any case, I suspect that this space is related to unlocking the gene lock, and I even suspect... that it is a relic created by the first batch of humans to unlock the gene lock."

Bill White laughed and said, "Do you think those ancient monkeys could predict that we would be watching horror movies now? And that we would have countless futuristic weapons to exchange? Do you think those monkeys could foresee all of this?"

Xavier Sabato smiled calmly and said, "Maybe the monkeys couldn't, but what if they created intelligent computers? Computers can exist without being alive or dead. They can record our horror movies and make us experience infinite horror until we die or break through our limits and unlock the gene lock in the midst of terror, and then earn enough reward points to leave. What do you think of this theory?"

Zero suddenly waved his hand and said in a low voice, "Perhaps what you're saying makes sense, but please pay attention to our current situation... The smell of blood is coming from the left, about thirty meters away. Who wants to go and take a look?"

Smith Lee gritted his teeth and said, "I have the highest enhanced abilities. I'll go and take a look."

No one said anything, and they cleared the passage for him. Bill White also held the Desert Eagle in his hand and handed a grenade to Smith Lee.

Smith Lee took a deep breath, forcibly suppressing his infinite fear. He cautiously walked towards the left side of the passage. Because he was extremely nervous, he seemed to be able to hear his own heartbeat. Gradually, he could even feel the subtle fluctuations between his blood vessels. It was a very strange feeling, indescribable, but Smith Lee had a moment of enlightenment. He felt that unlocking the gene lock was just a step away.

Unfortunately, this state didn't last long. When he cautiously looked to the left at the corner of the passage, he was suddenly startled. The inexplicable and indescribable state disappeared instantly, replaced by deep fear.

The left side of the passage was filled with indescribable flesh debris. It no longer resembled human figures, but bones, organs, and shattered flesh were piled together, along with many filthy and disgusting substances. Apart from some pieces of torn cloth scattered on the ground, no one could confirm that the flesh debris had once been human.

Smith Lee couldn't help but vomit, leaning against the wall and retching. As there was no immediate danger, everyone else also ran over. Jane Lan, Michael Li, and Michael Smith, who had already vomited and had their limbs weakened, could only barely stand by leaning against the wall.

After Xavier Sabato and the others finished their discussion and returned to the group, they frowned and looked at the three people whose limbs had gone weak. Xavier Sabato said, "Let's leave this place first. The situation is much worse than we imagined. The third form of the alien has already entered its mature stage, and... they are likely nearby."

As soon as he finished speaking, Zero and Berserker suddenly crouched down on the ground. Both men had a trace of fear in their eyes, especially Zero. He urgently whispered, "Something's not right. There's danger..."

People who lived on the edge of life and death often had a special intuition for danger. When Zero and Berserker crouched down at the same time, Smith Lee also felt a palpitation. He couldn't explain what kind of feeling it was, but he instinctively looked behind him. A huge black shadow suddenly rushed out from the passage behind them. Due to its speed, only Smith Lee's reflexes could catch a glimpse of the terrifying creature, which was usually only seen in nightmares.

At the back of the group, Michael Li, who was leaning against the wall, couldn't move due to his weakened state. Seeing the terrified expression on Smith Lee's face, he turned his head and became unable to move any further.

It was a fully grown giant alien, about 2.7 to 2.8 meters tall, with a tail extending three meters away. Its body was dark and shiny, and its elongated head extended to its back. Its terrifying mouth was filled with sharp teeth, and what was even more frightening was that its tongue, protruding from its mouth, was also lined with teeth. It was a creature that could scare ordinary people just by its appearance.

Michael Li looked at the saliva constantly spraying from the alien's mouth. He had just swallowed his saliva, and the giant tongue of the alien had already pierced his shoulder. The tongue, full of sharp teeth, moved incredibly fast. Even Smith Lee could only vaguely see a black shadow. Then Michael Li's body was easily torn apart like a piece of paper. Smith Lee could only catch a glimpse of the desperate look in Michael Li's eyes before his head was crushed by one of the alien's tongues.

Another alien turned its head towards Smith Lee, and its tongue, dripping with transparent saliva, slowly extended. At that moment, the giant creature roared, and the tremendous sound brought Smith Lee back to his senses. He took one last look at Michael Li's shattered body, or rather the torn flesh of Michael Li, and then without looking back, he ran back towards the passage.

"Run! Damn it! There are three aliens!"

Smith Lee ran and shouted, Zero and the Warlord react the fastest. The two of them simultaneously threw grenades and then turned around and ran towards the depths of the corridor. Following closely behind them were Bill White, Xavier Sabato, and Michael Li.

Due to her position at the rear, Jane Lan was the closest person to Smith Lee. Her explosive speed was not that great, and her position was likely to be affected by the power of the explosion. When Smith Lee passed by her, he could only pick her up and carry her. Then, the shockwave from the explosion hit, and the two of them fell to the ground simultaneously.

Smith Lee's reflex speed was astonishing. In the moment of falling, he forcefully flipped over and used his back to press against the ground. Jane Lan, in turn, pressed against his chest. The astonished woman with a well-endowed chest looked at him. At that moment, she even touched her forehead and chuckled, "You really are a good man."

Smith Lee was momentarily stunned and shouted loudly, "What crazy talk is that! Run quickly!" After saying that, he tried to push Jane Lan away and stand up.

However, Jane Lan firmly held onto his collar and said, "I have very little enhanced physical fitness. Apart from endurance, my running speed is definitely not good. Carry me and run together."

At this point, Bill White and the others had already run far ahead, and Smith Lee couldn't say much more. The shockwaves behind them only hindered the alien creatures for a moment. If they didn't run fast, the two of them would simply die here. He gritted his teeth, carried Jane Lan, and rushed forward. At this moment, the small woman obediently pressed her face against Smith Lee's chest.

Smith Lee's physical fitness was indeed very strong. It was as if he didn't feel anything while carrying a person. After running through several corridors, he suddenly realized that he had gotten lost. In the panic earlier, he only knew to keep running forward without stopping. However, even after running such a long distance, he hadn't found where Bill White and the others were. In other words, they had already lost contact with the main group.

Smith Lee clenched his teeth and continued running forward along the corridor. He ran for about a hundred meters until he saw a steel door appearing at the side of the corridor. He rushed in with Jane Lan in his arms.

All the doors on the spacecraft were equipped with automatic sensing devices. They would automatically open when they detected a living being nearby. That's why the two of them easily entered the room. Once inside, Jane Lan jumped out of Smith Lee's arms and leaned against the steel door, pressing some buttons. After a few presses, the steel door finally closed, and a red light appeared on the door.

Jane Lan let out a sigh of relief and patted her chest, saying, "That scared me. I was so scared that my legs went weak. It was more nauseating and terrifying than the aliens in the movies."

Smith Lee had been watching Jane Lan's actions. This small woman had a firm and full chest. He didn't notice it when they were running away earlier, but now he remembered the scene where she pressed against him. He felt as if he still remembered the soft touch on his chest, especially seeing her chest shaking as she patted it. He quickly turned his gaze away.

Jane Lan seemed to sense something. A faint unnatural blush appeared on her face. In any case, she let go of her hand and smiled, saying, "I said the automatic sensing function of this door could definitely be turned off. Otherwise, anyone could enter and leave your bedroom freely. Wouldn't that mean you have no privacy?"

Smith Lee coughed, steadying his mind. Then, the image of Michael Li, the young boy, flashed through his mind. Although he wasn't eye-catching and seemed somewhat weak, this boy was indeed a kind child. Whenever he gained some insights during training, he would smile happily. Smith Lee remembered that he had mentioned his biggest dream, which was to have strength surpassing others after enhancement and return to school to teach a lesson to those who bullied him. But now, he has...

"Damn it! I clearly said I wouldn't abandon any comrades! But at that time, I was also scared and ran away!"

Smith Lee became more and more angry and frustrated as he thought about it. He fiercely punched the side, and with a bang, the steel bar beside him, as thick as his arm, was dented by his punch. Both Smith Lee and Jane Lan stared at each other in astonishment.

Jane Lan quickly ran over. The room wasn't very big. Besides a bunk bed made of steel, there were some simple furniture and a wall-mounted television. Smith Lee's punch had dented the steel bar on the bed.

"Wow, when did you become so strong?"

Jane Lan touched the indentation on the steel bar made by Smith Lee's punch, then grabbed his fist and looked at it. Surprisingly, not even a scratch appeared on his fist. She exclaimed, "No way? Are your fists made of iron? Such great strength!"

Smith Lee was also astonished. He tried another fierce punch towards another steel bar on the bed. This time, he put all his strength into it, and the steel bar actually snapped, causing the bed to collapse on the ground. Even Smith Lee himself looked at his fist in disbelief.

"It's impossible. I've never won against Bill White in a fight unless I used internal energy. If I had such great strength, I would have knocked him out with one punch long ago."

Smith Lee looked incredulously at the broken steel bar he had just hit. Jane Lan touched her forehead and suddenly said, "Maybe it's because you showed mercy before. Not intentional mercy, but because you have mastered such tremendous strength, so you subconsciously held back against the people around you. And it's not just about great strength, your skin didn't even break. Oh my, your skin seems to be even tougher than steel."

Smith Lee clenched his fist, and an idea came to his mind. "What if I unleash all my strength, combined with the instantaneous eruption of internal energy? How destructive would the steel bar thrown by me be?"

Jane Lan looked at the bent steel bar nearby and smiled, "Why don't you try it nearby? If the results are good... hehe, I won't tell Loli about it when we go back. I'll say you were peeking at my chest."

Smith Lee didn't dare to retort. At this moment, he was too familiar with Jane Lan's expression and gaze. In the ten years he had spent in the mortal world, he had seen a few good girls showing the same expression and gaze to him... He knew that being silent and acting was perhaps the best choice at this time.

Silently, he turned around and grabbed the broken steel bar. Indeed, his strength had reached such a level. He had never had a chance to try this strength in the main god's space before. He pulled the steel bar with his hand, and sure enough, it snapped off. The creaking sound was piercing to the ears, but to Smith Lee and Jane Lan at this moment, it gave them a strange sense of security.

Smith Lee weighed the steel bar in his hand and then took a deep breath, directing his internal energy throughout his body. Then, with a loud shout, he threw the steel bar towards the distance. With a loud crash, the steel bar penetrated into the steel wall, leaving only a few centimeters of the tip outside, while the rest was embedded in the steel wall. The power of this throw was astonishing.

Smith Lee and Jane Lan were both stunned. They stared at each other for a long time, and then they instinctively looked at the steel bar on the bed behind them.

"Since we forgot to exchange for heavy weapons, let's smash them with this most primitive object!" Smith Lee muttered to himself as he gripped the steel bar. Beside him, Jane Lan had already burst into laughter. When this petite woman laughed, her chest trembled, making Smith Lee occasionally glance at the corner of his eye. Jane Lan seemed to be aware of the gaze wandering around her chest, and her face turned slightly red. She even slightly straightened her chest, making her ample bosom even more prominent.

Perhaps, this was the only source of joy at the moment, Smith Lee thought as he stole glances, but when he thought of the three huge and terrifying nightmare creatures, a feeling of almost despair rose in his heart, along with a stubbornness that refused to accept fate.

Survive, no matter how desperate the situation, no matter what the circumstances... he would definitely survive!
