The banquet was set in the main courtyard. Daohua arrived a little later, and by the time she came, everyone had already settled down. Just as she was looking around for where to sit, Zhou Jingwan, seated next to the host, stood up and gestured to her, "Yiyi, over here!"
Daohua smiled and walked over, taking a seat next to Zhou Jingwan and Dong Yuanyao, then nodded to Su Shiyu, who was seated beside Zhou Jingwan, and to the young ladies from other families at different spots, as a way of greeting.
Su Shiyu asked with a smile, "Why have you just arrived?"
Daohua glanced towards the entrance of the courtyard and happened to see Chen Jiarou helping Old Madam Chen over. Turning her head back, she said with a faint smile, "I was delayed on the road by someone."
Dong Yuanyao, Zhou Jingwan, and Su Shiyu followed Daohua's gaze and looked in that direction.
