"Where do you think they went?" Kevin asked Kyle. "They've been gone a long time haven't they?"
"Who?" Kyle asked.
"Jake and Miss Anna." Kevin replied.
"Why don't you go look for them then?" Kyle said.
Sky already had an idea or two of what they might be doing and knowing Anna's personality, he knew she would be getting really comfortable with Jake right now. He looked at Rheya and out of all the girls he'd been with or the ones that had straight up thrown themselves at him, Kevin was right, she was just on another level. He hadn't really spoken to her since he saw her, but it was time to change that.
"Hey." Sky said when he walked up to meet Rheya. "I'm Sky."
"I know. I've heard some things about you." Rheya replied.
"Good things?" Sky asked, putting his charming and radiant smile to work.
"Jake was not lying about you being extremely attractive." Rheya said.
"He said that?"
"Not in those words." Rheya said, giving him a smile of hers which was equally as charming as his and was accentuated by the marking on the left side of her forehead.
"Kevin can't seem to stop talking about you." Sky said. "He might be in love."
Rheya laughed slightly. "I'm flattered." she said. "What about you?"
"What about me?" Sky asked.
"How do you feel about me?"
"I feel like you are one of the few people who might actually be on par with me in terms of attractiveness."
"Do you always boast about your appearance?" Rheya asked.
"No. But for some reason girls love it." Sky said. "Can't figure out why."
"You humans." Rheya said with another laugh. "Fascinating."
"You think you're better than us?" Sky asked with a smile, his blue eyes staring directly at her golden coloured eyes.
"We are." Rheya replied.
"I'm gonna make you rethink that and change your mind." Sky said then leaned forward and gave her a kiss on her lips. He pulled away after giving her the kiss but she pulled him back in and kissed him for longer.
"Oh come on!" Kevin yelled, seeing the two of them kissing. "I've been here this whole time trying to get your attention and you kiss him?"
"Would you pick yourself over Sky?" Smith asked Kevin.
"The guy's got skills." Kyle said. "Already kissing her in less than five minutes of talking to her."
"You need to focus on what we're about to do." Rheya said to Sky after the kiss.
"You kissed me." Sky reminded her.
Nikki had been quiet since Diane died and Smith was starting to get worried about her. "Are you alright?" he asked her as he moved to join her.
She was sitting alone on a pile of rubble. She didn't look like the joyful and carefree Nikki she always was. Diane's death had obviously hit her really hard.
"Yeah, I'm good." Nikki replied, clearly not being honest about how she was actually feeling.
"How are you holding up?" Smith asked. "I know you and Diane became good friends."
Nikki's eyes became teary but she didn't cry. "She didn't deserve to die." she said and wiped her teary eyes with the back of her hand.
"Of course she didn't. She was trying to help."
"She never had colour magic." Nikki said.
"What do you mean?" Smith asked, confused by what she said.
"Everyone thought her magical ability was colour magic but she never actually had colour magic." Nikki explained.
"So what magic did she have?" She had definitely gotten his attention with what she just said and he was intrigued. He had wondered how Diane was able to do what she did with only colour magic and it had been like an itch at the back of his mind.
"I can't remember exactly what she called it but she said she could absorb strength or energy in the form of colour. People thought she had colour magic because that was how she absorbed the strength around her. The strength leaves the person she's using her magic on and goes to her, then the colour in her eyes becomes brighter the more energy she absorbs."
'Finally, it makes sense!' Smith thought with relief. "Why didn't you or her ever tell anyone?"
"It was her magic." Nikki answered. "She let everyone keep thinking she had colour magic and stopped me from correcting them."
"She didn't die in vain Nikki." Kevin said, joining her and Smith. "She may have sacrificed herself but it was worth it. Jake killed the six-tailed wert and now we're making plans to destroy the wert base. Everyone's gonna know she was responsible for our victory here."
Smiling at him kindly, Nikki said to him "Thanks Kevin."
"No worries." Kevin replied. "Now if you'll excuse me, I've got a score to settle with Sky."
"What's the plan now?" Jake shouted at the monarch as he walked towards him.
"Well look who's back." Kevin said. "Back from your little sabbatical with Anna?"
Anna was walking behind Jake with extra energy and sensuality in her movements, apparently feeling slightly giddy for some reason.
"Are you jealous Kevin?" Kyle asked, getting up from the ground where he had been focusing on his magic, trying to make it stronger and see if he could evolve it again.
"Don't worry Kevin, you'll get your turn." Anna said and trailed her thumb across his lips before blowing him a kiss.
"I can die a happy man." Kevin said with an expression of absolute glee and satisfaction on his face.
"You and the rest of the scouting team set out immediately." Tom said to Jake. "Your objective is only to look around the base without attracting any attention whatsoever. Return the moment you think you've been discovered. Is that clear to all of you?"
"Crystal." Jake said then turned around to head off to the wert base.
"Do you plan to walk all the way to their base?" the general on the scouting team asked.
"What else can we do?" Jake said.
Taking a few steps back, the general stretched his hands forward and began moving them in straight lines in the air. The atmosphere in front of the general was being distorted as something was forming and when the general had finished, a truck was now in front of them.
"That's sick." Sky said. "So you can create things?"
"In a way." the general said. "Shall we?" he said and got into the driver's seat.
